We Goin’ Sizzler – Div D Week 2

We are back with DIVISION D week 2 action, let’s start with who brought the sizzle!

We begin with this week’s Johnny Utah: NIKKI PAPICH went 15 for 20 with 210 yards and 5 TDs. The game was never in doubt as THE NEW GUYS doubled up THE LEFTOVERS 38 – 19. This was THE NEW GUYS’ first game as they began the season on a bye week, we will hold our praise until next week but looking good guys.

Next, we have this week’s Rod Tidwell: DARON MIGDESYAN caught 6 passes on 6 targets for 77 yards and 3 TDs as TOUGH LUNGS coughed up the 21 – 20 win over THE STOICS. This was game one for both teams so look for both teams to improve going forward.

This week’s Earl Megget goes to ALEXANDRE FAFARD who ran 6 times for a total of 41 yards and a TD. Alexandre also had 4 throwing TDs and only had 2 incomplete passes as LOS SIETE AMIGOS defeated AROUCH 33 – 12 in a game that had zero interceptions.

On defense, the Stefan Djordjevic goes to… ummm, well I guess it goes to ANTHONY DRYSDALE who had the only defensive TD of the week! 1 INT, 2 PDs gets it done for this week.  However, Anthony could not do enough for the win as HOT SAUCE SPORTS shutdown VULTURES 27 – 19. Great job by HOT SAUCE SPORTS, limiting BENJAMIN MCMAHON is no easy task.

Next, we have this week’s Bobby Boucher: FELIX D’AOUST rushed the QB for 3 SKs and forced him into throwing 2 INTs. In a game that saw the losing team try 3 different quarterbacks; never a good sign, JOHNNY FIREBALL woke up in the second half to defeat MEAN GIRLS 26 – 13. Before the complaints start coming in, yes OLIVIER DOLEYRES had 4 SKs this week but he also allowed CHRIS RIVEST to rush for 50 yards, Mama says not good enough.

Finally, the Becky ‘Icebox’ O’Shea for best 2-way performance goes to EDGAR BENOIT who had 4 receptions on 6 targets for 102 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. Although it was not enough for the win as KISS MY END ZONE gave up an 18 – 6 halftime lead. Final score LOCKDOWN 18 – 18 KISS MY END ZONE.

Our game of the week has to be the forfeit, as LOYOLA were no shows for the game versus VOODOO. Shame, shame, shame, make a phone call, send an email, pick up guys off the streets, sheesh. I feel gutted for VOODOO who showed up for the game and were denied their chance to win the prestigious individual awards. So, let’s put the spotlight on VOODOO. FRANK KAYE is a seasoned QB playing FPF since 2009 with a respectable 70.1 QB rating. ANGELO GAROFALO is another seasoned player who is an absolute beast, he seems to catch anything you throw at him. Finally, KEVIN MARCIL has to be the defensive leader on this team. He started off this season with 3 SKs but this is a guy that once had 18 SKs in a season. Look for Voodoo to contend for the cup.

Now, for Teoli’s FPF Almanac 2021.

BRUINS VS TOUGH LUNGS

Look for the BRUINS to control the game defensively as GABRIEL WISEMAN will pressure MATTHEW LERNER into making mistakes. BRUINS will be working with a short field so expect at least 4 offensive TDs.

THE LEFTOVERS VS CLINKERS

If CLINKERS can address their defensive woes, they have more than enough quality offensively to pick up the win over THE LEFTOVERS. JOSEPH CECERE must spread the ball out for a chance to win this one.

AROUCH VS LOYOLA

If LOYOLA show up for this game, look for AROUCH to get the win. AROUCH’s ERIC LALOND did well in the week 2 loss but he cannot focus his targets on BASTIEN PHANEUF-THIBAULT alone.

KISS MY END ZONE VS GLOGANG

After GLOGANG’s THEO LEBLANC threw 4 INTs his last game, KISS MY END ZONE’s ALEXI DUBOIS will be chomping at the bit for this one. Look for Theo to struggle and for Alexi to have a big day. KISS MY END ZONE win this one easily.

TUTS AND PARLAYS VS BLACKOUTS

Wow, this is a tough one. On one side we have TUTS AND PARLAYS’ experienced DANIEL LAZZARA. On the other, we have BLACKOUTS’ savvy MICHAEL KHAZAKA. Also, the Lazzaras vs the Khazakas, it’s like double ‘Double Dragon’! Still, give me BLACKOUTS for the win, it will be close but team chemistry will be the difference.

REPLACEMENTS VS JOHNNY FIREBALL

Let me just start by putting the target on my back, JOHNNY FIREBALL have looked good so far but haven’t really been tested yet. Look for the REPLACEMENTS to come up big defensively and limit ÉDOUARD LEROUX.

HOT SAUCE SPORTS VS LOCKDOWN

Peeze vs Eagle! Give me HOT SAUCE SPORTS for the win here as PAOLO DELLA ROCCA will be responsible with the ball and LOCKDOWN do not have a sack threat on defense. Also, BUCK ANEER has an awesome porn name.

THE STOICS VS MEAN GIRLS

In a game that sees both teams looking for their first win of the season, I have to go with THE STOICS. Their trio of CHRIS RIVEST, ALEXANDRE PROVENCHER-RIVEST, and DENZEL EADIE-LOWE will be too much for the MEAN GIRLS to handle.

LOS SIETE AMIGOS VS VOODOO

This is a good match up as both teams have looked promising early on. I believe VOODOO will win this one late as LOS SIETE AMIGOS will run out of gas, playing with seven on a roster is not an easy task and VOODOO will exploit them for it. Look for KEVIN MARCIL to get to ALEXANDRE FAFARD early on but for Alexandre to bounce back and spread the ball late.

VULTURES VS SPERA’S LEGION

This is a toss-up! VULTURES will need to get to VINCE PISANO and disrupt his rhythm in the pocket, I don’t see that happening. However, I don’t see BENJAMIN MCMAHON losing two in a row. Give me a very high scoring TIE!

TOPSZN VS PD’S AND NEGRONIS

In a game between bottom dwellers both looking for their first win and both looking for consistency at the QB position, I have to go with ARIEL LIBRATI to do just enough to give PD’S AND NEGRONIS the win in a low scoring game.

BALLIN 60’S VS TRAPSTARS

TRAPSTARS’ RYAN GARBER had a decent game distributing the ball but the 2 INTs hurt them week 1. Look for him to bounce back this week and get the easy win over a BALLIN 60’S team that is struggling offensively.

LES BLUES BRANLEURS VS PARDON MY SWAG

Look for JORDAN MCINNIS to make life very difficult for OLIVIER PILOTTO. PARDON MY SWAG gets the win here as BRAD EVANS is too good of a QB to only have 84 yards last week.

THE NEW GUYS VS FIGHTING ILLINI

Tough call here as both teams looked great last week but I have to go with reputation here and the play of JOSH FEDER and KEVIN SMUDA has to be enough to get FIGHTING ILLINI the win. C’mon NIKKI PAPICH, prove me wrong.

Playoffs, we talkin ‘bout playoffs!

Let’s take a very early look at the playoff picture.

Conference A:

  1. JOHNNY FIREBALL (2-0-0)
  2. SPERA’S LEGION (1-0-0)
  3. BRUINS (1-0-0)
  4. HOT SAUCE SPORTS (1-0-0)

I don’t see JOHNNY FIREBALL staying in the top 4 for very long. BRUINS will rise to number 1 soon, and look for SPERA’S LEGION and HOT SAUCE SPORTS to stay in the top 6. Look for VULTURES and THE STOICS to make there way into the top 6 as well.

Conference B:

  1. VOODOO (2-0-0)
  2. BLACKOUTS (2-0-0)
  3. FIGHTING ILLINI (1-0-0)
  4. LOS SIETE AMIGOS (1-0-0)

These standings are bang on as VOODOO, BLACKOUTS, and FIGHTING ILLINI all belong in the top 4. LOS SIETE AMIGOS will drop but look for them to finish in the top 8. Look for PARDON MY SWAG to make a jump into the top 6 very soon.

Looking forward to week 3, make sure to check out the Game of the Week as VULTURES take on SPERA’S LEGION Sunday July 11th at 9pm Laval (2). This can be a preview of a possible playoff match-up.

Until next week, Pain Heals. Chicks Dig Scars. Glory Lasts Forever.
