Tier 4: A Week Full Of High-Powered Offences

Hey everyone, we are back for another Tier 4 article. We have finished with Week 2 and with more teams making their season debut this past week, it’s going by quick. We still have 9 teams who haven’t played a game yet and by the end of Week 3, it will only be Super Troopers who are missing the action. This week would include each winning or tying team scoring minimum 30 points with several losing teams scoring over 20 points. Teams are still getting adjusted and I expect defences to figure themselves out by the end of the season. I had the chance to watch a few games this week and there’s a large amount of talent in this division. Teams are trying to make a name for themselves early and teams who haven’t even touched the field yet are hungry to start their season with a bang! With Week 3 approaching, teams no longer have the privilege to using the excuse of their uniforms not arriving and players will get uniform violations if they don’t have a numbered jersey with the same colour or shade as their team.
On other news, we will look at the game recaps of the Week 2 slate but before that, let’s dive in how my fantasy lineup from Week 2 did and what will my Week 3 lineup will look like! Reminder that I can only use a player and defence only once throughout the season. Here’s the scoring format below:
- Throwing: 1pt per 25yds, 4pts per passing TD, -2 per INT thrown
- Receiving: 1pt per reception, 6pt per TD, 1pt convert, 2pt convert
- Rushing: 1pt per 10yds, 6pt per TD
- Defence (starts at 0): 1pt per sack, 0.5 per pass defended, 2pt per INT, 1pt per safety, 6pt per TD
Week 2 Fantasy Results:
QB: Mathew Yanakoulias (vs Team Ethnik) 33.84 pts ➡️ 211yds passing, 6 TDs, 0 INTs, 2 runs for 14yds

WR: Kevin Marcil (vs Texas Whales) 32.4 pts ➡️ 7 rec, 72yds, 3 TDs, 1 INT
Rusher: Dante Talarico (vs Voodoo) 9.2 pts ➡️ 1 rec, 22yds, 1 TD
DB: Eric Hamparsoumian (vs Reborn Prospects) 14.1 pts ➡️ 5 rec, 71yds, 1 INT

Defence: Uncle Rico’s Ryders (vs Team Ethnik) 3.5pts ➡️ 7 PDs
TOTAL: 111.74 pts
🚨 Week 3 Fantasy Lineup 🚨
QB: Charles Presser (vs Glogang)
WR: Jonathan Bottazzi (vs First Down Snifflers)
WR: Charles-Antoine Nadeau (vs Vice City)
Rusher: Winny Foko (vs Texas Whales)
DB: Laurent-Philippe St-Onge (vs Studz)
DB: Dudley Ignace (vs FC Bing)
Flex: Shemar Rickard (vs Show me your TDs)
Flex: Anthony Moustache (vs Ball Hawks)
Defence: Bible Study (vs Sans Pression)
Glogang def Airs University 35-6
QB Neil Loisel only needed 9 completions to score 5 TDs, 3 of them going to Shayen Boisvert. The Glogang offence was also 3/5 on conversions and their defence stood tall with 4 INTS showing a complete game. QB Duncan Cook wasn’t able to connect with his receivers and even though Connor Houston seemed to have the better day, both QBs were underwhelming in their season debut. This Airs University team has shown offensive fire power in the past so it’s not too late to find some of it back.
Uncle Rico’s Ryders def Flag Dealers 45-26
A near perfect game for QB Mathew Yanakoulias with 6 TDs on 85% completion. Denis Koutavas and Victor Lasnier-Danies each had 3 TDs and Dallas Odem led the defence with 2 INTs and Peter Bakopanos had a pick-6. For Flag Dealers, it was a tough first game but with QB Roy Khalil throwing 4 TDs, it shows this offence is more than capable to score. Eric Hamparsoumian led the team with 2 TDs, showing his hands and can be a matchup problem with his height. Defence is key for Flag Dealers and if they can figure that out along with limited offensive turnovers, they can 100% make noise.
Bible Study & Chomedey Chodes tie 31-31
On the last play of regulation, Chomedey Chodes were on the 2 yard line and Joseph Chalhoub would make a diving INT sending the game into OT. With better clock management, Chomedey Chodes may have had a few extra plays but they wasted precious seconds before calling a timeout. Both teams stopped each other in OT ending the game in a tie. Jonathan Bottazzi continued to be a reliable target for his brother, QB Matthew Bottazzi, who also added 68yds rushing and a TD on the ground and QB Evan Vavinis was efficient with 73.9% completion with 5 TDs getting comfortable chemistry with his receivers such as Rocco Christiano and Joseph Chalhoub.
Reborn Prospects def Flag Dealers 30-6
Reborn Prospects were able to assert defensive dominance with 3 INTs against QB Roy Khalil and a pick-6 for QB McRodly JeanMarie on the defensive side. Dudley Ignace has had an INT in both games this season so keep an eye on him later this fall in the INT leaderboard. This game was tough for Flag Dealers as they weren’t able to score until the final play of the game. With three trips in the redzone and only scoring at the very end, perhaps the scheme isn’t fitting. Flag Dealers has shown offensive promise in their first game but this was a game that their defence got an INT and the opposition scored on every other drive.
Briscoe Hawks def Dog Walkers 32-0
I talked with Chris Cassamajor about the struggles with Dog Walkers and it came down to the lack of QB play on the team. This team is a group of guys who haven’t played all together, all have individual talent in FPF but without a solidified QB. In this game, Julien McLaren–Thompson was the QB in the first half and it was ugly. Abdul Pierre took over the second half and there was promise but still needs to build chemistry with his receivers. For Briscoe Hawks, it was clinical on both sides. QB Alex O’Neill played near perfect with 5 TDs on two incompletions and George Spano on the receiving end with 4 TDs! Shoutout to Winny Foko with 4 sacks and a TD late in the 2nd half showing two-way ability with his teammates celebrating a great game from Foko. It was a pure domination effort by Briscoe Hawks but I’m curious to know how they will fair against teams who might not have an QB issue. Their next game is against Texas Whales who has had Tyler Cousins throwing for them for a few years now and also with Spano previously played for Texas Whales last season so watch out for the revenge game this Friday night in Laval!
Texas Whales def Voodoo 42-24
Speaking of Texas Whales, Tyler Cousins threw for 19/20 with 5 TDs and his only incompletion was an INT! He was able to spread the ball around and Chazz Pisanelli led the team with 2 TDs. On defence, having 2 INTs of their own and with Daniel Alessandro getting a pick-6 in his debut for Texas Whales, he can perhaps be a key pieces in Texas Whales becoming a contending team. For Voodoo, moving down to Tier 4 might have been a good decision. Even with the loss, this veteran squad can make it a competitive season. Frank Kaye continues to play the short-intermediate game and his main target Kevin Marcil was clinical with 3 TDs and an INT. Nicolas Cloutier is a good piece on defence as a rusher and if the back end of Voodoo’s defence can stand tall, Cloutier should be able to be near the top of sacks by the end of the season.
Uncle Rico’s Ryders def Team Ethnik 42-41
The game of the week needed extra time and Uncle Rico’s Ryders would get the 2pt conversion on the final play to win 42-41. For Uncle Rico’s Ryders, Justin Lerner was back and he led the game with 4 TDs and having great games from both Peter Bakopanos and veteran Daron Migdesyan on the offensive end. For Team Ethnik, the 15 passes by QB Benoit Lawlor led to 6 TDs and 200yds. The offence was spread out with Simon Dufort catching all three receptions for TDs and David De Andrade leading the team in receiving yards. On defence, Alain Keb would get 3 sacks and Dufort would get the only INT in the game. With Uncle Rico Ryders getting their only 2-point conversion with their last TD to tie the game and in OT to win the game, shows their clutchness as a group to win out the tough games. A heartbreaker for Team Ethnik but with this offensive power, teams that have them on their schedule should worry.
Closing Remarks
That’s all for this article! Next week I’ll recap these games and also see how did my fantasy lineup turn out. With more teams getting into the action for this Fall Season, each game will matter more and teams will be attending to make a name for themselves as champions. As always, thanks for reading this article and if you have any questions or suggestions, you can always email me at [email protected], message me on instagram @keyoncyrus or message me from the FPF Facebook page.
