The Smallest Division is still Mighty!

Hello Co-Ed 3! Welcome to the end of week 5 and the beginning of the SUPER BOWL weekend! As a football fan, I hope this SUPER BOWL is as close and competitive as possible…. As an Eagles fan, I hope they dominate this game and the Chiefs are crushed beneath our heavy wings and talons!….. And as an Andy Reid fan…. I know he would be happy for the Eagles deep down, so they should still win!!

Either way, I hope everyone has an awesome FPF week off, and everyone gets real slow and lazy and uncoordinated and stuff so I can beat you when I play you! Hope you enjoy the article! See you on the field!

*Editor’s Note* : ANT-MAN & the WASP: Quantamania is out February 17th. Everyone go see it.

THE UNSTOPPABLE THOUGHTS OF A MAD MAN

  • BLOCKED PARTY ties in their game against a strong SNEAKY SNAKES team! The first tie of the season! This game included a Rushing TD and a PICK 6. It’s a shame that BLOCKED PARTY couldn’t inch out their win, but they have called attention to themselves now. Teams should not underestimate them!
  • The rematch to watch this past week was KANIKULE Vs FAST NOT FURIOUS 3. They initially played in week 4 and FNF3 took the win by a decent margin 28-18. Ryan Dobbs was even my QB pick #2 of last week for this win. However, week 5 (this week), told a different story! KANIKULE came out on top of this match winning 25-24 in the last minutes of the game. Is this a chink in FNF3’s armor?
  • Despite Kenny being in the race for QB of the year and Zackary being in the race for WR of the year, MICHAEL SCOTT’s TOTS are struggling to find their wins. They will need to be able to spread the ball more on offense and look to Maude Santos Charlebois and Phuc Pham to take control of the defense and continue to make big plays.
  • The #2 team of PASCARES were kept to only 6 points in this past game against HALF N HALF. PASCARES still maintain their position as the #2 team, but also have played the most number of games (6). Let’s check in when other teams have 6 games played to see how these rankings may change. 3-3 is a good record, but at 2-1-1, SNEAKY SNAKES might be able to jump the gap!
  • It is a neck and neck race for QB of the year! There are 4 top contenders, but that doesn’t mean that others cannot catch up.  With 6 weeks left, let’s check in and see who’s who:

Currently in the lead with 15 TD’s and the most yards (621) is Ryan Dobbs-Garnett from Fast not Furious 3. Other QB’s will need to up their game to catch up to his TD’s, as he shows he will still put up 4 TD’s a game, win or lose.

Athena Ryan from Kanikule currently takes second place with 12 TD’s and the least amount of sacks! However, with the lowest pass completion rate, it might be hard for Athena to stay among the top. Seeing as this is only her 2nd season throwing in the league, she has definitely impressed the division and should not be underestimated!

Raphael Beauchamp-Desbois is currently in 3rd, but Kenny Boutilier is nipping at his heels. Although Raphael has 11 TD’s to Kenny’s 10, Kenny is currently outpacing Raphael by 130 Yards and is leading the lead in Rushing Yards and TD’s. Raphael and La Secte have the benefit of leading the division, but will need to continue winning if he wants to stay in 3rd!

  • BLOCKED PARTY and MICHAEL SCOTT’S TOTS remain in the red for another week. Who will climb out of the danger zone first, if at all? BLOCKED PARTY play KANIKULE two weeks in a row, so this should give them a chance to adjust and re-deliver in the second game if need be. MICHAEL SCOTT’s TOTS have 2 weeks off due to the SUPER BOWL weekend. Will the rest hurt them or help them?! (…Obviously it’s going to help us. We will return from an EAGLES win and reproduce it on the FPF field)

TEAM REVIEWS

SNEAKY SNAKES:

Sneaky Snakes had a better than average start in their first season of 2022, going 5-5 and losing to Kiss My Endzone in the playoffs. Their QB throughout 2022 was David Brisson, who had a 2:1 TD to INT ratio in his first season! Jolly good show! Unfortunately, luck was not on their side in the Co-Ed cup and they ended up going winless. Having gone up against some very strong teams in the Co-Ed cup, SNEAKY SNAKES dropped down to Co-Ed 3 and are trying to find their stride. Their core unit is made up of Felix Lalonde, Alexandra Van Den Bossche, Hamza Ghernati, Jennifer Perusse, and Marc Andre Gosselin. Over the last season they have lost their QB, David Brisson, and seem to have replaced him with Christopher Landry. Christopher has picked up a good amount of yards in 2 games (230) but will need to find a way to complete more passes if he wants to give these snakes a chance at maintaining their positive records.

Other losses for the team have been David Gaumond and Julien Proulx. At 2-1-1, the snakes have already beat the #1 team – LA SECTE and what I think can be a heavy hitting team in HALF N HALF. These big wins should be a warning sign to other teams that SNEAKY SNAKES is here to not only compete with the best, but also to beat them. However, a loss against KANIKULE (#6) and tying against BLOCKED PARTY (#8) has put some doubt in my mind at how consistent this team can be. I’ll be looking for some big wins in the next couple of weeks for them to prove they are deserving to be in the Top of our division.

Prediction : 5-4-1

HALF N HALF:

Although Camille Ste-Marie currently leads the QB stats of this team, she has alternated games with Kristopher Verreault who had an All Star first game with 5 TD’s and a 75% completion rate! These 2 QB’s (when Camille is not being a WR) lead their family-oriented team that I’ve dubbed: The Fantastic Four. Centered around Gabriel Wiseman, he is joined by nephews who are cousins who are brothers: Tahnyus Steer, Jahmaal Roach, and Malakai Roach. The healthy competition seems to be pushing the whole team forward: Jahmaal and Gabriel are currently fighting for the #1 receiver spot on the team with 3 TD’s each and most other receivers have at least 1 TD. Honorable Mention to Malakai Roach for being the only perfect receiver on the team with 8 Targets / 8 Receptions.

Their female players are no joke either! Camille Ste-Marie has shown she can be a threat at the QB position, whether it be in the air or on the ground (11 Rush Attempts / 43 Yards) and can also keep up with the rest of them on offense. Ayrane Boucher currently leads the ladies of this team in catch rate, yards, and yards per catch, while also sporting 1 TD. Last, but definitely not least, is Marie-Anne Landry-Duval. Leading this defense in tackles and sporting a PD, Marie-Anne is all over the feel pulling a Gandalf: YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

HALF N HALF have beaten PASCARES and SCOTT’s TOTs by a large margin, but failed to best those SNEAKY SNAKES in their week 1 game. Will they be able to follow in SNEAKY SNAKES’ lead and beat LA SECTE next week? Can they get revenge on SNEAKY SNAKES in week 10? We will be following this family friendly team throughout the rest of the season with high expectations.

Predictions: 7-3

GAME OF THE WEEK PREVIEW:

Although I really want to give my Game of the Week preview to LA SECTE Vs HALF N HALF, I have to give it to PASCARES and SNEAKY SNAKES. This game has the potential to shake up the division!

PasCares (3-3) Vs Sneaky Snakes (2-1-1):

The whole season has been marked by surprising twists and turns. When I finally think I have a pulse on the division another upset happens. As we go into Week 7, PASCARES stands ahead of the division despite having a +/- in the negatives. Their 3 wins come from MICHAEL SCOTT’S TOTS x1 and BLOCKED PARTY x2, while their losses come from LA SECTE, FNF3, and HALF N HALF. PASCARES still seem to be finding their full time QB, as both Vanessa Pierre and Nicolas Menard threw in their last game. Whoever chooses to be the main QB for this game will need to keep the ball safe and reduce turnovers at all costs. If they are looking to split the game between Vanessa and Nicolas, they will need to make sure they communicate well and relay the defensive tendencies so that they do not lose stride when switching the offense. This game will be another test for PASCARES, who may need to start scoring more to ensure their wins!

SNEAKY SNAKES have been trudging through the middle of the pack and are living up to their name. If other teams do not watch out, these sneaks will snake behind them and strike! With 1 win coming from LA SECTE and the other from HALF N HALF (2 teams that have beaten PASCARES), SNEAKY SNAKES have the ability to upset even the best of teams. I imagine this to be a mid to high scoring game that lends in SNEAKY SNAKES favor.

Prediction: PasCares 20 – Sneaky Snakes 27
