The GM’s Scouting Report (Div 1 & 2)

The weeks are winding down, and we’re starting to see a real indicator of what the postseason is going to look like. However, fear not; nothing is set in stone just yet. There’s still plenty of time for change and for on-the-bubble teams to make a playoff push.

Playoff Picture

Division 1

Conference A

1. Montreal’s Finest* (7-0, 14 pts, 3-0, +124)

2. Flag Moi L’Sac (5-2, 10 pts, 2-1, +59, H2H over Express)

3. Express (5-2, 10 pts, 1-2, +46)

Conference B

1. Rainmakers (4-4, 8 pts, 3-1, -4)

2. Alkaholiks (3-4, 6 pts, 2-1, -2)

3. Maniax (2-5, 4 pts, 0-3, -69, H2H over Terror Squad)

4. Terror Squad (2-5, 4 pts, 1-2, -64)

5. Gladiateurs (1-7, 2 pts, 1-3, -90)

People have been clamouring to see a crossover rule effect, and their requests have been answered. With a crossover rule established, we’re more likely to see the ‘best’ teams qualify with the crossover rule (the 6 teams with the best records will qualify rather than the 3 seed of one conference potentially being weaker than the 4 seed of the opposite conference.) What’s more, with Terror Squad’s loss to Maniax, there’s actually a strong possibility that it’ll happen.

With the strength of the Finest in Conference A, it seems like Flag Moi L’Sac and Express are going to be fighting over who will get to call the coin toss before their game and nothing else. Conference B is a little more open ended, with the Alkaholiks on the heels of the Rainmakers after their loss to the Gladiateurs this week. The Glads mathematically still in and Terror Squad have to make every game count to prevent the Maniax from taking advantage and crossing over.

Division 2

Conference A

1. DK* (7-0, 14 pts, 3-0, +130)

2. One Night Stands* (6-0-1, 13 pts, 4-0, +97)

3. Road Runners (4-3, 8 pts, 3-1, +66)

4. Team Padon (3-4, 6 pts, 0-3, -39)

5. Wolverines (2-4-1, 5 pts, 0-3, -89)

6. Top Gunnz (1-6, 2 pts, 1-2, -84)

7. Panthères (1-6, 2 pts, 1-3, -53)

Conference B

1. D-Boys (6-2, 12 pts, 5-0, +167)

2. Ice Up Son (5-2, 10 pts, 2-1, +71)

3. Served With Ice (4-3, 8 pts, 1-2, -13)

4. Bodyhype (3-3-1, 7 pts, 2-2, -32)

5. Wolfpack (3-4, 6 pts, 2-2, -32)

6. Hustlers (2-5-1, 5 pts, 1-3, -81)

7. GoonzSquad (1-6, 2 pts, 0-3, -108)

Just when you thought that Div 2’s playoff picture looked somewhat straightforward, we’re seeing the emergence of darkhorse teams. While still technically on the outside looking in, the Wolverines have won two straight and are looking to make a strong playoff push. As for the king of Conference A, it looks like it’s going to all come down to the week 10 DK/One Night Stands matchup. Unfortunately, I think that it’s a safe bet to say that Top Gunnz and Pantheres will not be making a postseason appearance this season.

On the flip side, Conference B has many possibilities. Ice Up Son and D-Boys ALSO have a Week 10 meeting that might decide the top seed in Conference B. While neck and neck currently (D-Boys are one win ahead due to having played one extra game) they might lose their edge next week with quarterback Marco Masciotra absent. Wolfpack can’t be counted out yet, and Bodyhype and Served With Ice can certainly be considered darkhorse teams, not knowing what to expect from Bodyhype and SWI having won their last 4 in a row.

FPF Fantasy Draft

1. G.M. (3-1, +108.10)

2. Vince (3-1, +1.63)

3. Daniele (2-2, +23.90)

4. Rehan (2-2, +14.57)

5. Moe (2-2, -39.33)

6. Don (0-4, -108.87)

This week’s matchups are as follows: Rehan will be facing off against Don, Moe will be against Daniele and I will be facing off against Vince for what will likely be first place overall.
