Game Previews

Semi Finals in the Top Bracket EZW vs Dirty Birds

Regular Season contest: EZW win 32-25

These two teams met once this season back in week 4 where EZW was victorious. Jeremy White was near perfect as he threw for 4 Tds no INTS and punted the ball only once. EZW offence was very balanced as 3 different receivers accumulated 40+ receiving yards and White also added 4 rushes for 27 yards on the ground. The unpredictable offence was key to their success as Dirty Birds defence had no idea what where to focus and had zero answers. Dirty Birds signal caller Quaid Johnson had a great game but his one interception proved fatal as they lost by only one score.

In a highly anticipated rematch, this semi-final matchup in the top bracket pins the #2 seed EZW against the relentless Dirty Birds. The stakes are high, with both teams coming off impressive performances in the playoffs, setting the stage for an electrifying battle. EZW’s journey to the semi-finals has been marked by offensive excellence,  epitomized by their nail-biting 40-37 victory in the previous round. Quarterback Jeremy White, a standout performer throughout the regular season, has elevated his game in the playoffs, throwing for an impressive 400 yards, 13 touchdowns, and only 2 interceptions. White’s ability to deliver in crunch time has been a crucial factor in EZW’s success, and all eyes will be on him as he leads his team into this pivotal matchup. As the home team and the #2 seed, EZW carries the weight of expectations into the game. Undoubtedly looking for another stellar performance from White and the rest of the team as they aim to secure a spot in the finals.

On the other side of the field, the Dirty Birds are riding high on the momentum off a statement win against the #1 seeded Dime and Bougie. Their offense was the driving force in the victory, putting up an impressive 51 points. In the playoff run so far, playmakers James Tyrell, Justin Blackie, and Khalil Kerr have been instrumental, each scoring three or more touchdowns in the past two games. The Dirty Birds will look to capitalize on their offensive firepower and carry the momentum into the semi-finals.

As the two teams prepare to battle it out on the field, football enthusiasts can expect nothing short of a classic semi-final encounter. The question remains: Will EZW’s resilience and home advantage be enough to fend off the surging Dirty Birds, or will Dirty Birds continue their impressive run and secure a spot in the finals? My prediction?…as great as Dirty Birds have been and how well their athletes have played, I previously picked EZW to make the finals and im going to stick with that prediction and say they come away with a very tight in a high scoring event 48-46.

Quarter Finals Night for the bottom bracket

Dime and Bougie (7-1) vs Fins Up (5-2-1)

Dime and Bougie and Fins up did not get a chance to play each other this season but this is a game I’ve been waiting to see all season. #1 seeded Dime and Bougie will be hungry after a top bracket loss. Fins Up who have had a more inconsistent season still find themselves with the opportunity to beat some of the toughest teams in all of FPF and make it to the Tier 2 Finals. Will Power will need to get the ball out quick as the speed of rusher Felix Boutet is something he has not seen before. If Will is able to not turn the ball over, Fins Up may have a chance to successfully eliminate Dime and Bougie from the tier 2 playoffs. Marvin Steinberg also needs to have a huge performance as he led this team in receiving Td’s this regular season. If he isn’t the focal point of this offence im not sure who can.

The Infantry (7-1)  vs Kiss My Inlaws (7-1)

Regular season contest: KMI wins 41-26.

In their first matchup Kiss My Inlaws took this one comfortably with a two score lead. The only thing is that this information is completely useless as QB Zach Stacey did not play. The Infantry were undefeated with Zach Stacey until last weeks quarter final loss to EZW. I think KMI will still be successful offensively but this weeks game will be a much closer contest with Zack Stacey under center.

My Prediction: I think Dime and Bougie and Kiss My Inlaws will both be the teams to advance and play a second game tonight. I think this will be the best game of the week as Dime and Bougie and Kiss My Inlaws have so much history. Having played Vs each other in the finals twice over the last 3 seasons shows how great these teams have been recently. QBOY favorite Iggy Manzanedo will need not just one but 2 great performances if he wants his team to be able to face the top bracket loser in a semi final.

FPF Fantasy

Last week I said:

Although I have no opponent to go up against if I select a standard fantasy football formatted team, so I will try to select a team that I think can score an absurd amount of points so I would beat almost anyone. I think that number looms around 120 points. Obviously we have no RBs in FPF so I will select 1 QB,  4 receivers and 1 defence, so to reach my goal of 120 each player selected needs to average 20 points. So here are the players I think will have the best week in this next round of playoffs.

Unfortunately one of my WRs wasn’t present for their game so one of my players will receive a DNP and I will reduce my goal to 100 points. So lets see how I did. NOTE: I used standard PPR points system to calculate my total points.

QB: Jeremy White- EZW= 28.6 pts

215 yards 6tds 2ints

215/ 25=8.6,  6×4= 24,   2×2=-4.

8.6+24-4= 28.6

WR1: Rory Semerjian- The Infantry= 19.4 pts

4/4 34 2tds

4+3.4+12= 19.4

WR2: Felix Boutet- Dime and Bougie= 14.1 pts

4/5 41 1tds

4+4.1+6= 14.1

WR3: Khalil Kerr- Dirt Birds= 19.5

2/4 55 2tds

2+5.5+12= 19.5

WR4: Tristan Fiske-Casault- Les Potes a Besette

DNP

DEF: Ambush= 2 pts

34 points allow, 2 sacks

-2+(2×2)=2

Total fantasy Pts = 83.6

I unfortunately did not reach my goal as Tristan Fisks-Cassault who I assumed would have a big day did not play and the ambush defence dissipated as they allowed 34 points and were unable to cause any turnovers.

Thanks for tuning in once more and ill be back a few more times before this FPF Fall Cup season is over.
