Surprise Surprise

Another week of recaps from last weeks games, a lot happened. Some undeafeated teams have officially been defeated. They are now sitting with at least one lost, maybe it will be their last lost of the season? Maybe it’s the first one of others? Hopefully not because loosing ain’t fun but we can’t win them all either.

Coed 1

Kiss My End Zone 18-12 The IG Team

Two teams we know that have a big history together. They share the wins as one team may win one time and the other another time, it’s always a close game, whether it’s a big scoring game or little. The challenge between both teams are always fun to watch but this time around both teams played against for the first time this season, which fun fact is the only time they play against in the regular season. Therefore next time they play against it will be in the playoff rounds where once you lose it is over. That being said Kiss My End Zone managed to score 3 touchdowns without having their original QB. Stephen Harripersaud was subbing for them as Ignacio Valdes Manzanedo was not present, he was out in Orlanado having fun at the NFLFlag Pro Bowl, lucky him. Stephen once again proved how good of a QB he is, he manages to adapt very well to teams and was able to get the win for Kiss My End Zone. Using Geraldine Cabillo-Abante this time, she ended up having 2 touchdowns for 45 yards, nicely done.

On the other hand, The IG Team was missing their key player, offensively and defensively, Jeanslee Alexis was missing during this game. However his brother, Jourdain Alexis, was able to put some points on the scoreboard using both Jafya Jones and Stella Jean Georges as his top targets as they both managed to get many yards and a touchdown each.

With both teams missing their QB’s they still were able to play a close and tight game with only a touchdown difference. It is always nice to see the originals teams play against so hopefully they are able to play in the playoffs and we could get a rematch from last season’s finals!

Party Mix 0-30 Plenty Of Fish

Here I thought Party Mix was going to finish off the season undefeated…I was wrong and all this because they busted the team cap! Therefore, this is Party Mix’s first “lost” of the season just from a simple mistake. I do still believe Party Mix will be able to win all of their next games, but we’ll see if they will check their team cap next time.

That being said, even if it’s considered a lost, Francois Deslauriers got 5 touchdowns with 227 yards. This time around he got Jeremy Murphy and Jonathan Chevalier to make the touchdowns and obtain the converts. Although they were the ones to get the touchdowns, Francois Deslauriers seems to be a QB to distribute well the ball, every receivers got a variety of receptions throughout the game. Defensively, Aj Gomes showed why he’s an amazing player as he got 4 tackles and an interception but at the end of the first half, I mean stats are stats !

For Plenty of Fish, Maude Lacasse was also able to get 5 touchdowns for 201 yards. We can see her main targets this game were Seth Galina and Rocco Christiano who both have more than 60 yards, 2 touchdowns each and were the ones who were able to get the converts, we can see that both teams have similar stats. Defensively, Rebecca Décary-Corbeil was able to get 5 tackles throughout the game.

Les Porcinets 50-33 Zerosub

The final score hurts to see however both QB’s were able to punch in 5-6 touchdowns which is good. The only difference is that Les Procinets got a pick 6 made from Gabriel Harvey and successfully gain four times the 2 point converts.

Gabriel Harvey on Lee Porcinets was the MVP of the game since he got 3 touchdowns for 47 yards and got a pick 6 on defense. While Antoine Casimir was able to deflag Zerosub at 6 different occasions.

On Zerosub, Emilie Carrier carried their team, she gained 104 yards and 3 touchdowns, she was also the main target for Sara Parker. Question is, was Les Porcinets not able to cover Emilie? Were they leaving her wide open? Or was Sara Parker able to throw the ball in the small windows the defense was giving her, just enough for her receiver to catch and not the defense? I’m leaning more towards the last one. Similarly, Tamara Journeau was able to deflag 8 times Les Porcinets’ receivers.

Coed 2

A couple teams had 2 games this week, no double headers this season, just on different days. Let’s see how it went…

Lords of the field – Won both games

A big weekend for lords of the field, after loosing its last 2 games, they came back up and won both of them this weekend!

39-6 against Team Meow Meow

Felix Gerin-Lajoie was able to get 5 touchdowns and balls equally distributed amongst his teammates. Almost everyone on his team was able to get a touchdown, including Amélie Durocher, Alexandra Falcon-Korb, Camille Bergeron and more.

13-0 against The IG Team 2

This time around, Felix Gerin-Lajoie was able to get one touchdown by a pass and the other one he ran it. Watching this game, I can say it wasn’t an easy one as there were a lot of incomplete passes thrown on fourth down which gave the ball back to The IG Team 2. However, even with the turnover on downs the defense was still able to stop The IG Teams 2’s offense, not letting them get a touchdown.

Power Puff Girls, won 1 lost 1

6-24 against Kiss My Christmas Balls

To be fair, KMCB do have a lot of experience on the team as they also have Alexi Dubois calling the defense, which is not very easy to play against. They did try their best and Noah Di Lullo Langelier was able to get his receivers a lot of yards even if they didn’t get touchdowns.

26-24 against TIGRES

Having filmed that game, I can confirm it was not an easy one. Playing against a QB who runs half of the time may be confusing when adjusting the defense. However, they were able to stop the QB from running, cutting his run and deflagging him as soon as he passed the line of scrimmage. They got the hang of it towards the end of the game as they were prepared for his run, making him not able to gain touchdowns. This game came all the way down to the last play of the game. Nestor Nacip Chavez Fayad couldn’t run and was forced to throw to Ana Karen Rodriguez Valverde to which Power Puff Girls were able to make that pass an incomplete one, winning their game.

Who’s Gonna Carry The Boats – won 1 lost 1

0-25 against Mc Nuggies

A harsh lost. I guess playing in the midday is not ideal for some players as there were a lot of dropped balls, incomplete passes, etc. They were not able to get touchdowns nor get close to the red zone. Games like this happen once in a while, it’s normal.

18-12 against Kanikule

Even though it wasn’t a big game in terms of yards, Alexandre Szalipszki did manage to get 1 more touchdown than Kanikule through all of the physical plays and talking that was happening on the field.

Mc Nuggies – won both

25-0 against Who’s Gonna Carry The Boats

They had Darryl Dorcely throwing this game as their original QB wasn’t present. Never in this game was he nervous, or at least he didn’t look nervous at all. He knows how to play and has previously played with a couple of the players also. Josianne Martin, Shelder Valery and Marie Stefane Lapierre were all able to clutch in a touchdown. Similarly on defense, Shelder Valery was able intercept the ball twice and gain a pick 6 from it.

45-26 against Pig 6

With the return of their original QB, they were able as a team, to win against Pig 6, a team who has been undefeated up to now. Both QB’s have 4 touchdowns however Mederic Lauzon was able to run it a couple times to get 2 more touchdowns. Also on defense Alexandre Roel got a pick 6 which added another 6 points on their scoreboard.

Fantasy team of the week

Coed 1

QB – Kristopher Verreault (Les Procinets), 24/28 completions, 197 yards, 6 touchdowns and 0 interceptions

Receiver – Emilie Carrier (Zerosub) 8/9 catches, 104 yards and 3 TD’s

Defender – we have 2 with the same stats this week

  • Constance Millaire (The IG Team) 8 tackles
  • Tamara Journeau (Zerosub) 8 tackles

Rusher – Julian McLaren-Thompson (Plenty Of Fish) 3 sacks, 1 PD

Female Athlete (just adding another female athlete from this week) – Geraldine Cabillo-Abante (Kiss My End Zone) 6/9 catches, 45 yards and 2 TD’s

A lot of female athletes are starting to stand out from every team, they are getting more stats each game and getting more included, all thanks to the new rule of a minimum of 3 women’s on the field!

Coed 2

QB – William Brouard (Fitsquad) 19/23 completions, 221 yards, 7 TD’s and 1 interception

Receiver – Emerson Peterkin (Pass Whoopin’) 11/12 catches, 165 yards and 3 TD’s
