Sunday Previews

Da Finest vs Braves: A battle between the two best QB’s in the game. This Braves team has proven to be one of the best they’ve constructed thus far. Hard to imagine they lose another game this season. If anyone can pull off a surprise upset it would be Da Finest who have FPF legend Kevin Wyeth, but he can only do so much with a limited and constantly changing roster. Both teams are coming off a win and both teams will be hungry for a win tonight. Last time they met Braves came out on top but the game was close until late in the second half. The key matchup for this game is between both veteran QBs Kevin Wyeth and Jonathan Maheu.

PREDICTION: Braves 44-32

Terror Squad vs Lightweight: One team is fighting for a better playoff spot while the other is fighting for their first win. Can Simon Dagenais and gang pull off the upset and muster up their first win of the season? Not impossible but highly improbable as they face a Terror Squad team fresh off a big win. Count on Tam to light it up tonight and bring his team to 3-3. The Key matchup in this one is between Justin Blanchard and Serge Pilon JR.

PREDICTION: Terror Squad 38-26

Les Studs vs Taco Tuesday: Les Studs are coming off a huge win vs one of the division’s best teams while Taco Tuesday suffered their second straight loss last week. This is quite the match up and certainly tough to predict. Les Studs have been turning things around while Taco Tuesday has slowed down over the past few weeks. I expect Les Studs to come out swinging but count on Taco QB Sean Avraam to have the last laugh. The Key matchup in this game will be between Taco Tuesday’s high powered offence and Les Studs’ struggling defence.

PREDICTION: Taco Tuesday 34-19

Backwood Boyz vs AA: Another winless team vs one of the division’s powerhouse squads. AA has failed to score more than two touchdowns in any game they’ve played and they’re on the hunt for their first win of the season. Backwood Boyz have been looking great and I will be extremely disappointed if they put up anything less than 40 tonight. The key matchup in this game will be between Nicholas Groppini and Charles Boudreault.

PREDICTION: Backwood Boyz 44-13

Trapstars vs Pension Plan: 2nd place vs 3rd place. It’s hard to split these two teams and I expect that to reflect on the field tonight. Young studs vs seasoned vets, two completely different styles of teams which should make for a great battle. If Pension Plan can manage to slow down the game and achieve a stop against the division’s most deadly offence, then they’ll walk away victorious. However, if they fail to contain Trapstars’ top players and give up too many big plays early the game will be too far out of reach for a comeback. The key matchup in the game will be between both team’s leading receivers Anthony Siggia and Cooper Young.

PREDICTION: Pension Plan 35-34

Past Our Prime vs District: Two struggling teams that will face off in a fight for a playoff spot/playoff hopes. They share a record of 2-3 and both want to finish the night 3-3 with playoff hopes still alive. Only one team will prevail, the only question is which one? We have the veteran referees who have seen enough flag football for two lifetimes and the young athletes who bring lots of skill but lack experience. I’m taking Craig O’brien and crew for this one. I think their knowledge of the game and ability to adjust will be the difference maker. The key matchup in this game will be between Tanner Burrell and William Paquette.

PREDICTION: Past Our Prime 36-30
