So Many Questions… I Got Some Answers.

Hey everyone! For those of you who don’t know me my name is William Power. I will have the pleasure of writing for Division D this Spring. There are a ton of great and experienced teams in the division. Look forward to covering Div D from week 1 all the way to the championship game in Brossard!

I am not going to dive into any recaps today. I will try and provide some answers for the rest of the season. Here Goes!!

Can Why So Serious? make the jump to a higher division?

It’s no secret that this franchise has struggled in FPF, but I like their new-look roster. The have added some young guns in Kareem Anthony Chilcott, Ashif Rehman, and Brandon Kerr who are great athletes. Robert Di Lelsi is an absolute baller who deserves more media attention. He will be Teoli’s main target. Why So Serious’ success will ultimately come down to the play of QB Frank Teoli-Colatrella. He is a very smart mind and has been improving over the course of his FPF career.

Who are the favourites to win it all?

There are a lot of really good teams in Div D. You got X-Men, Les Petit Carottes, Born in the 80’s, Big Fat Bats, but I’m going with Friends with Danny. Danny D’Amour might be too good to throw in this division. That, and he has a very solid roster around him with great experience. Jared Buck, who is used to throwing passes to D’Amour, had 6 catches, 121 yards, and 4 touchdowns in his team’s week 1 win over The Rude Saks.

Who are the dark horses of Division D?

I saw No Ragrets play week 1 and was very impressed. Jason Rossie was out there looking like his boy Devante Adams, Scott Bins was catching everything in traffic, and QB Angelo Kalaidopoulos was slinging the rock left and right. This team does not look very imposing which is exactly why I can see them catching teams off guard. They aren’t fast or even all that athletic, but know what it takes to win games. Don’t sleep on Justin Anania either. A big body with great hands that can move.

Which Team is under the most pressure this season?

I’m going with Big Fat Bats. I say that because they are a good team. They had a very good Winter season that ended with them losing in the finals where they were outmatched. AJ Zeppetelli is an up-and-coming star in the league. He has great chemistry with his brother Mathew. They are sitting at 1-1 and beat a good team in Bandits D’Ahuntsic. Big Fat Bats have quickly made a name for themselves in FPF. They have the playmakers all over the field and we should expect them to build on last season’s success.

Who is the best receiver in the division?

This was a tough one. After playing against him in Division B this past weekend and seeing him up front, I’d say Skylar Bayliff from West Island Boys. I have heard of his name being tossed around the league but had never really go to see him play. He balled out in Division B and had been doing much of the same with West Island Boys. Bayliff does a good job of shielding defenders and attacking the ball. With him and other studs on the team, I can see these boys from the West Island making noise.

Who are Idaho Udapimps?

I’m glad you asked. First off, they’re a good group of guys. Secondly, they have been playing together for a while in the MFL. Thirdly, they just put up 58 points in their first game of the season. QB Brady Ohanessian is the leader for this team. Not only a great player but a calming presence in any huddle. They also have Manu Allard-Roy who has been playing FPF for many years now. He was big for them in their opener. Jerome Hovington is coming off of 2 championships. Safe to say he knows how to win with a career record of 28-1. Remember the name Alexandre Szalipszki. That is all.

Will DNE bounce back from an 0-2 start?

I’m surprised they are 0-2 in the first place. With guys Like Max Burah, Jordan Panetta, and Ryan McGrath you would not aspect that. QB Nick Richard has had a tough start. He has only thrown 2 TDs so far. I can’t see this team continuing down this path. They have too many studs not to make the playoffs. I would not be surprised to see them finish 7-3. Their next game comes against Why So Serious? which is a must-win.

Why do people keep sleeping on the Miami Heat?

I saw a post on Facebook that gave the Heat a 3% chance to beat the Celtics. 3%… I wonder what that percentage was to get to the Eastern Conference Finals…. #HeatIn7

What’s up with all these youngsters taking over FPF?

X-Men, Bandits D’Ahuntsic, Dilf Gang. We continue to see exclusively teenage or young adult-teams make their mark in the league. After just winning a championship in Division 6, X-Men have now moved up to Division D. They impressed in a week 1 victory where they won by 26 points. Bandits D’Ahuntsic are 2-1 and Dilf Gang are sitting at 1-0. In a league filled with veterans and highly-experienced players, it’s nice to see these young bucks balling out across all divisions. Keep up the grind boys!

Who is the funniest player in the division?

Kevin Kousaie from Longhorns. Just talk to him. You’ll see what I mean.

Who’s my pick to win it all?

I’m going with Idaho Udapimps beating Friends with Danny in the big game. They are very well-rounded on both sides of the ball and every position. Anyone can play short and/or deep on defense. Any of them can be a WR1 for a game. I think the idea of them playing together for several seasons and knowing each other’s tendencies is what ultimately sold me on these boys.

Weekly Picks (Winner in bold)

Studz r us vs Bandits

X-Men vs The Penetrators

No Ragrets vs Friends With Danny

Glory Boyz vs Born in the 80’s

Bold Prediction: David De Andrade will throw for 8 touchdowns and have a perfect QBR of 158.3 in the win vs Glory Boyz!
