Robert Kraft to be Celebrated For Not Killing Thousands of Animals

Peeze’s Playbook

Week 7

By Paolo Della Rocca

There isn’t a bigger Patriot’s hater in the world than I am.  I’m a Dolphins fan and therefore I hate the Pats as much as I loathe myself for the choice I made to love the Teal and Orange!  When yesterday’s story broke about Robert Kraft and his involvement at the massage parlour that was being investigated for sex trafficking I immediately overreacted.

Let’s investigate what we know for certain.  Robert Kraft was a client of the massage parlour in question.  Said massage parlour is under investigation for among other things human trafficking.  However, what remains unknown is whether or not Mr.Kraft knew of the conditions that brought the employees to the parlour and it does not appear that he was involved with the running of said establishment.  The equivalent would be that if Costco used human trafficking to staff its stores and all of us who wanted a sweet deal on far too much toilet paper were being held accountable for sex-crimes.

Now, most of us haven’t received the old rub-and-tug happy ending at Costco by any of their employees.  However, I’m not going to moralize about one 77 year old man’s decision to enter an alleged oral contract for sexual services.  Honestly, the fact that laws still exist that prevent people from freely making these transactions is what creates an environment where the women in question are subject to kidnapping, trafficking, sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.  They are even more likely to contract and spread sexually transmitted diseases than in countries where prostitution is legal.  However, we live in a world where we are drawn to clickbait.  Just as I’ve click baited you with the title of this article.  If you can’t beat them; join them I suppose.

Yet another news item caught my attention as I scoured the internet and postponed the writing of this article (we’re all procrastinators….face it).  PETA wanted to take a moment on the would be birthday of deceased Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and remind everyone that he “forced animals to perform in front of the camera” and should not be celebrated.  I want to remind PETA that thanks to his efforts to help us understand animals my first instinct when I see a crocodile is not to put 3 slugs in it’s cranium.

For the record let’s examine PETA’s recent record when it comes to rescuing animals. As per the Huffington post PETA euthanized 2324 of the 2626 animals it acquired and has a 1% adoption rate.  I guess the old saying remains: those who live in glass houses shouldn’t act like pompous d-bags.  Also, if you’re a Florida massage parlour, you should avoid building it in a glass encasement. No one wants to se Robert Kraft’s piece unless he’s paid you to.

Feeding Frenzy

This week it would not be team Sharknado that would be on a feeding frenzy.  Instead, Dirty Landry’s defense smelled blood in the water every time Sebastien Blanchette dropped back to pass. In watching this game, It felt as though Dirty Landry had more players on the field than Sharknado. Joffrey Hamman led the charge with two interceptions including a drive-by pick in the middle of the field. Myles Keiller and Frankie Scalzo would add interceptions as well to ensure that this would be a rough outing for Blanchette. Avery Lalla took advantage of some short fields to pile on the scoring for Dirty Landry.  He didn’t throw for many yards but he did score 5 touchdowns in what would be an absolute beating.

Scoring a single point in a game is an absolute feat.  It’s a feat of incompetence but a feat nonetheless.  I had a theory that Sharknado was a good team that wasn’t getting attention because they played one less game. In fact, they were instead a team who hadn’t played competition by the half way point of the season.  They’ve been outscored by 51 in their last 2 games and Sebatien Blanchette’s 61.6 QB rating won’t get it done against the top dogs in the division.  Gabriel Coallier was the leading receiver in this game with 3 catches for 37 yards but what I witnessed was offensive travesty.  Blanchette relied on the same plays throughout the game even as they were not working.  As his confidence was shaken it looked like he was predetermining reads in the huddle and then lobbing balls into traffic. The result was a 34-1 throttling by one of the division’s elite.

Snooze Squads

Every week there are amazingly memorable moments in FPF.  Now and again there are games with no redeemable qualities where watching it make you feel like you’ve wasted a portion of your life that you’ll never get back.   That was the case in the game between Green Monster and Goon Squad.

The game was 0-0 at the half and showcased two struggling offenses. For Green Monster, Alexandre Nadeau took the reins at quarterback as he’s begun to over the last few weeks.  He often committed to rolling to one side and firing a ball with no touch and many passes were simply overthrown.  One such pass rattled off the Lachine dome and was far out of reach of any receiver.  Eventually, Nicollson Leveille would turn his only catch into a 40 yard touchdown and that, along with an ill-timed safety surrendered by Goon Squad would prove to be enough in a 9-7 win.

Each week, Goon Squad’s offence seems to struggle.  If it isn’t for the running of Massimo Cicchini, or his faith in receivers Matthew Colocchio and Matthew Gagliardi, Goon Squad simply can’t move the ball. In Massimo Cicchini’s defence Goon Squad have had a reputation for dropping passes this season. This game featured the typical issues facing Goon Squad but was compounded by the excellent rush of Green Monster’s Kevin-Paul Emile. At the moment both teams are struggling and this game was an indication of just that.

Seventh Round Up in Smoke

There are teams in division 6 that make every game a difficult night out.  In a game that featured two such teams I was pleased to look over from my own game to catch much of the 7th Rounders vs. Fourth & Twenty game.  Both of these teams play a lot harder than their records would indicate.  Fourth and Twenty specifically are a tough defensive team that play the part more so than look the part of a dominant defense.

Charles Duchesne struggled greatly against the defense of 420 blazing.  Early on it was evident that he struggles throwing the deep ball and after touchdowns to Francois Dessureault and Angelo “The Receiver of the Mediterranean” Mourelatos, scored first half touchdowns.  In the second half the 420 Blazing defense tightened up and force Duchesne to throw the deep ball with no success.  Chris Bartolomucci intercepted both errant passes and made the second half hell for 7th rounders.

Erik Ciaccia was was the hero on offense has he scored three touchdowns on passes from Vince Menniti. Adam Raspa added to the scoring as he crossed the goal-line twice in this game as well.  Menniti was bothers some by 7th Rounders rusher Terry Babalis but it wasn’t enough to keep the 420 Blazing offense pinned back.  Fourth & Twenty would go on to win the game 32-12.

Brewer’s Friend

I happened to catch much of the contest between Brewers and South Shore Seamen.  When I arrived I expected the game to be completely out of had even though it was early.  I was instead surprised to hear that it was a tie game between one of the division’s favorites and a new team.  From what I saw, Jeffery Lefebvre was not sharp in his outing as Brewer’s quarterback.  His one interception was on a terrible read in the endzone on a pass that was neatly jumped by Etienne Descroix of South Shore Seamen.  It would be his only interception of the night but he threw many others that could have been intercepted but luckily faced off against an inexperienced team.

Alexandre Dodier of South Shore Seamen would not be so lucky.  Despite playing well in the first half, Dodier was intercepted by Chris Morin twice and once by Jason Stephenson.  One thing that a lot of new teams do is take an unnecessary amount of deep shots in a game and they tend to throw deep late in the progression.  There was no exception here.  South Shore Seamen move the ball well for the most part Stephen Gusew and Gabriel Ciccarelli were the keys on offense.  However, when the South Shore Seamen fell behind there was no way for them to catch-up.  Brewers would win this game 25-12.

What Goes Around is All Around

The Trailer Park Boys defense have been an absolute marvel this season.  To learn that level of discipline and communication in such a short period of time is truly impressive. Antoine Meunier has been a solid quarterback this season but he lacks some of the explosiveness we’d like to see from him down the line.  Luckily for him, the defense has put him in position to manage the game well.  This game was no exception.  Interceptions by Matt Leblanc and Mathieu Gascon created positive situations fro their offense.  This was especially true of Gascon’s interception as his would be the key difference in a 20-12 game.

Rosedale Renovations marched Azeem Bailey out at the quarterback position once again.  Much like his opposite number he only completed 9 passes.  The differences were the two interceptions and Bailey’s inability to score on converts. Thomas Beaucher and Malik Salem combined for 3 catches and scored the team’s only two touchdowns.  After a very winnable game this coming up against South Shore Seamen this week they end with three tough games.  They should use that time to develop an offense that is best suited to their pieces.

Lions and Tigers Come Running Just To Steal Your Luck

The first time I saw Lionhearts, was actually in week 6.  However, as I was amidst mid-season reviews I did not have a chance to break down their game.  Instead I met with them and gave them some feedback about how they can begin to improve and overall I was pleasantly surprised with their athleticism and how well they took to coaching.

Prior to this week Lionhearts had scored 12 points all season.  In their 39-24 loss to Fightin’ Tigers they doubled that scoring output in a single game. Emilio Greco still has some learning to do at the quarterback position.  He often throws off his back foot and doesn’t position himself so as to not have the rusher in his face.  However, he looked calm and in control as compare to my first experience watching Lionhearts.  Chris Rose emerged as the number one talent as he kept attacking the ball at it’s highest point on his way to a 6 catch, 133 yard and 3 touchdown performance. In fairness to Greco, he did have quite a few drops. I remember Anthony Iannacronz dropping a quick hook and Alex Montanaro dropping several intermediate/deep hooks.

For Fightin’ Tigers, they did what experienced teams do to against new teams.  They moved the ball with great efficiency, Seth Galina remained composed and any time Emilio Pampena went up to get a ball he essentially owned the airspace. Aside from Pampena’s touchdown, Justin Blackie and Benoit Dussault  would score a pair of TDs while snapper Daniel Marceux would score as well.  This game was simply a matter of a more experienced team beating a team that is still learning how to compete in FPF.

Elite 8

Division 6

  1. Dirty Landry (6-0): This team is far from perfect but it’s clear that Avery Lalla is the best QB in the division. They will never miss an opportunity to beat down on a team that isn’t as good as they are.
  2. Warriors (5-0): Warriors wins have been tighter than they want them to be but their resume is likely the most impressive in the division.  Their top challenges are behind them and may just be cruising to a perfect season.
  3. D2: The Mighty Ducks (4-2):  Let’s not overreact to this loss.  Quarterback Mat Domon is rumored to have gone on a ridiculous bender and consumed more alcohol than Ovechkin during the summer of his Stanley Cup celebration. He had a slight hangover and missed the game.  Also, no part of that is true.
  4. Hot Sauce Sports (5-2): Beating Unknown Talent was a statement game.  When the entire roster is there they are one of the deepest groups in the division.  They have been resilient but will need to become more efficient if they expect to be a threat.
  5. Vick in a Box (5-2): Matt Pisaturo has had a great first season at quarterback. Hurricane SZN made him look like a rookie.  His inexperience may be the team’s only glaring flaw.
  6. Average Joe’s (4-2): I made reference to Average Joe’s giving us what we expect in my midseason report.  That said with a lot of favorites losing to underdogs at least Average Joe’s are reliable.
  7. Unknown Talent (3-3): They still make the Elite 8 from a talent standpoint.  They’ve dropped 2 in a row against contenders. Next week’s matchup against D2: The Mighty Ducks will be telling with regards to UT’s long range forecast.
  8. Dawg Pound (4-2): A 1 point win over replacements isn’t exactly playoff form but a win is a win…right?

Marc-Andre’s Elite 8

Division 6

Division 6D

  1. BBallers (5-1): Another week, another impressive win.  Gianni Casati recorded a win by only throwing 10 passes.
  2. Trailer Park Boys (5-1):  They are currently being propelled by a great defense and they still have a couple of weeks to correct their offense.
  3. Los Siete Amigos (5-1): Their only loss came in a close game to Divisional frontrunners BBallers.
  4. Potatoes (4-2): I had some concerns heading into the season.  It would appear that with each passing week they are subduing those fears. Samuel Lamothe’s 5 TD game warrants attention.
  5. Llamas Pyjamas (3-2): Olivier Godard was efficient in the dismantling of MACDO.  That said, it was more so their defense that would lead the charge in a low scoring affair.
  6. MACDO (5-2): Victor Nolin seems to have been installed as the team’s starting QB.  MACDO loses as the favorite.  Color me confused.
  7. Brewers (4-2): They honestly didn’t look good in a win over the South Shore Seamen.  Brewers could have moved further up this list.  Instead, I’m a little more worried than I have been.
  8. Les Casses (4-2): When an athletic group loses to a less athletic FPF team with more knowledge the more athletic team is usually pretty disoriented.  This must be how Les Casses feel after a loss to DGC.

Marc-Andre’s Elite 8

Division 6D
