Report Cards are out…. Part 2!!!

I’m gonna jump right into it!

Blitz Sisters (0-8)

This may sound weird, but this is a solid 0-8 team. Really admire their courage for playing in an all-mens division. Like I said before, Laurence Pontbriand is damn good. She doesn’t even led the team in TDs, however. That title belongs to Anipier Bérubé, who has 8 in 6 games. Maude Lacasse is a very good co ed QB. She has the zip needed to hit her receivers in stride. Unfortunately, that has not yet translated to division D. She needs to cut down on her interception total. Their 18 PPG isn’t too bad and I am sure they will score more than that in their 2 remaining games. Let’s see if they can get that first W on the season. Either way I think the season has been somewhat of a success.

Grade: C-

Key Players: Laurence Pontbriand, Anipier Bérubé, Maude Lacasse

Record Prediction: 0-10

Blues (0-8)

They have forfeited a game this season and had one game with a bunch of subs, where they were only 5 players. Just that alone is enough for a poor grade. Fellow Dolphins fan Johnny Paradis-Wilson has missed 4 games, where the team needed to find a different QB. Even if I exclude the games where they were not a full roster I can’t let these boys off the hook. They have a +/- of -154 and have only been competitive in a few games. They may not have the strongest roster in the division, but I was expecting more. A bright spot on the team has been Kendell Copeland who has an impressive 423 yards along with 7 TDs. Let’s see if Blues can continue to feed Copeland enough to get a win on the season.

Grade: D-

Key Players: Kendell Copeland, Ben Denis, Cam Chaput

Record Prediction: 0-10

Born in the 80’s (4-2)

I like this team for many reasons. The main one being the way they complement each other. You got your veterans, young guys, speedsters, and defensive playmakers. Their schedule has not been easy and they sit at 4-2. Their loss against Glory Boyz was a little puzzling, but Glory Boyz have proven to be a good team as well. Craig Browning is the superstar of this team with 7 TDs and 3 interceptions. I urge you to take a look at the ball distribution. In case you don’t, they have one receiver with 7 TDs, another with 6, another with 5, another with 4, and two with 3. It’s literally like counting down the New Year. David De Andrade has dissected defenses from the very start of the season. Bakley Charles is very dangerous with the ball in his hands. He’s got those running back-type cuts. Julien Proulx is an annoying pesky defender to any receiver he lines up against. They have 2 big challenges ahead versus Les Bleue Dry and Bandits. I wanna see them win both.

Grade: B

Key Players: David De Andrade, Craig Browning, Hugo Stensland

Record prediction: 7-3

Dilf Gang (3-4)

Good group of guys here. They have had an up and down season. Of their 7 games, 4 of them have finished within a possession. Sam Anastasopoulos is their deep threat and biggest game changer. He leads the team with 5 TDs. Vaughn Vanslet has only improved since entering the league. Cutting down his interception total will be key, but part of his game is that he is a risk taker. That’s why this team hits on so many big plays. Overall, they’re a very athletic group with players that play various sports. Matt Lafortune is not a DB you want to test if you’re a QB. He’s got 4 picks and takes away almost a whole side of the field. This is a bubble team to keep an eye on. If they can string together a few straight wins they’ll be scary come playoff time.

Grade: B-

Key Players: Vaughn Vanslet, Matt Lafortune, Sam Anastasopoulos

Record Prediction: 5-5

DNE (1-6)

I had high hopes for them heading into the season. With the talent on this team it’s surprising to see them at 1-6. Nick Richard has rebounded from a tough start to the season. He has thrown at least 4 TDs in 4 straight games now. The problem is that they have had major roster inconsistencies. Besides Richard, Mike Zenobi has played the most games and has already missed 2. Tough to get in rhythm when you have a different lineup week in, week out. Akeem Hoyte-Charles is back after taking a relatively long break from FPF. He has 4 TDs in only 3 games. If and only if they can get a more consistent roster, they may be able to upset a few teams on their way to clinching a playoff birth.

Grade: D

Key Players: Nick Richard, Jordan Panetta, Akeem Hoyte-Charles

Record Prediction: 2-8

Every Inch Counts (7-2)

Matthew Yanakoulias has thrown 45 TDs on the season. With one game left, can he end the year with 50+? Offensively this team will be tough to stop. With guys like Justin Lerner and Daron Migdesyan most offenses would excel. They have a combined 28 TDs and 874 yards. I am excited for their final regular season game against West Island Boys. Besides their win against Big Fat Bats, they have not had a ton of quality wins. To their defense, they can only play who’s on their schedule. Greg Kritselas has quietly put together an All-Star caliber season. He has 10 TDs along with 6 picks. This core of players is one of the best in all of the division. They have what it takes to go all the way.

Grade: A-

Key Players: Matthew Yanakoulias, Daron Migdesyan, Justin Lerner

Record Prediction: 7-3

Flagtastic (0-6)

Unfortunately they are just in the wrong division. I watched a little bit of their game against Les Bleue Dry and they had a good stretch of drives. I really hope they come back and play in either the Fall or Winter season. Despite their losses they have kept a positive outlook on the season and have kept some games close. Nicholas Lefebvre has an impressive 224 yards on only 10 receptions. With 4 games left it’s tough to see them getting a win, but as we know anything is possible in FPF.

Grade: C-

Key Players: Nicholas Lefebvre, William Ducas, Ugo Lamoureux

Record Prediction: 0-10

Friends with Danny (6-2)

This is kinda where I expected them to be through 8 games. Jeremy Laplante is making a big name for himself this season across several divisions. He has 412 receiving yards and 15 TDs with Friends with Danny. He’s quick, understands the game well, and has a large catch radius that I love to see. Jared Buck and Danny D’Amour have solid chemistry, playing together for a while now. This team averages 2 interceptions which is one of the main reasons they are 6-2. What troubles me is that in their losses the games have not been close. They lost 2 games by a combined 52 points. This is a championship caliber team that should be in every game. When their defense is slacking there offense is good enough to carry the load and vice versa. I want to see them win their last 2 games in blowout fashion.

Grade: C+

Key Players: Danny D’Amour, Jared Buck, Jeremy Laplante

Record Prediction: 8-2

Glory Boyz (3-2)

While their record is not all that impressive, I have been impressed with their season so far. It’s been up and down to say the least. They have very impressive wins against Born in the 80’s and Les Bleue Dry, but also have a weird loss to Big Dracos and a blowout loss to Big Fat Bats. I still like where they’re headed because of how they perform in the clutch. Their 3 wins on the year have all been 1 point games. They have played all the games outdoors and average 24PPG. That may not seem like a big deal to some, but putting up points is no doubt harder outdoors than indoors. The more I watch this team the more creative they get. They seem to take mistakes made in previous games and actively work on them throughout the course of the season. They may not be in the “championship contender” category, but neither were the Miami Heat.

Grade: B

Key Players: Michael Hiotis, Lucas Crivello, James Masciotra

Record Prediction: 6-4

Idaho Udapimps (5-1)

I ended up playing 4 games with Idaho and can say that this is definitely a championship caliber team. Of their 5 wins, 4 of them have been very convincing wins. This all starts with the QB play of Brady Ohanessian. He has a QBR of 128.1 and has only thrown 2 picks on the season. What I like about Brady is that he has full trust in every one of his receivers. Manu Allard-Roy has caught fire this season with 10 TDs and almost 500 receiving yards. Add to that the sure-handed Iggy Magnets, speedster Alex Szalipszki, and up-and-coming star Jerome Hovington who is returning from injury, and you got a dangerous team. Tyler Znoj is a underrated rusher who already has 7 sacks and will add to that total. They have a tough 4 remaining games which should have these boys ready and eager come playoff time.

Grade: A-

Key Players: Brady Ohanessian, Manu Allard-Roy, Ignacio Valdes Manzanedo

Record Prediction: 7-3

*****To all the remaining teams part 3 is coming soon!!! More like end-of-year reports cards at this rate haha. Thanks for your patience, and I’ll see you all at the fields!
