Safety Measures | Mesures de sécurité

The last several months have been difficult for everyone. What we’ve endured during the COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented for all of the league’s participants. Here in Quebec, now that restrictions on sporting activities have largely been lifted- FPF is thrilled to resume activities- however it is crucial that all stakeholders; players, referees, staff and spectators follow the measures put in place to protect ourselves and our fellow members from the spread of the virus.

Protective measures have been put into place by public health ministers, as well as national and provincial sporting organizations. What we have done at FPF is take those measures, and tailor them to best fit our league in order to be as clear and transparent as possible with the objective of keeping everyone safe during these relatively risky times. We appreciate those who have placed their trust in us during these times. We all look to enjoy a fun season with as much of a sense of normalcy as possible, however our biggest priority is to ensure that we do everything in our power to respect the safety measures put in place and keep everyone safe.

Remember that the collective safety of all participants for this upcoming season is dependent on everyone’s ability and willingness to responsibly abide by the following rules. They must be adhered to at all times.

INFLUENCE FUNNEL

As in who has priority to enforce or modify sanitation and safety measures over FPF this upcoming season.Government Bodies: includes the Premier of Quebec, the Health Minister and their partners

  1. Municipal / Private Facilities: Stade de Soccer de Montreal, Centre Multisports de Laval, Complexe Sportif Bell de Brossard
  2. FPF Administrators, Officials, Personnel
  3. Participants: Players, right to choose to participate or to abstain from, and to offer feedback

FPF and its players will abide by the instructions and sanitary protocols put forth by the Government bodies that oversee all public and private sporting organizations operating in the province of Quebec.

Once the Government disseminates its protocols, the facility owners then have the discretion to modify certain guidelines they see fit within their sports complex. As a tenant, FPF is also required to follow these rules.

SHOULD A PLAYER / STAFF MEMBER TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID

In the event that a player / league personnel member of FPF unfortunately tests positive for COVID-19 during the season.

  • Participants, officials or league staff who become sick with COVID-19 symptoms, test positive, or have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive are required to stay away from all FPF activities until they are completely free of any symptoms and have a confirmed negative test result.
  • Should any of the above individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19, and have also been at an FPF field in the last ten days before their test are required to notify FPF of their positive test as quickly as possible. FPF will then contact trace, and notify the players/personnel who shared a field with the sick individual (while keeping the player’s name confidential) to keep close attention on any symptoms or ideally have themselves tested as quickly as possible.
  • The team of any player who tests positive for COVID-19 will have their next game automatically postponed until the following week, allowing 10-14 days since the teammates were exposed to the sick player.

All FPF Fall 2020 season participants will be required to sign a waiver form that acknowledges the risks involved with participating in any recreational sport in this present moment.

FPF reminds its participants that the above rules may be modified by the Government or any of our Facility Managers at any time during the season.

The FPF administration will be available to players and personnel by email and via Facebook. We will continue to provide our participants with weekly updates throughout the season.

The different facilities we utilize are likely to vary in their specific sanitary regulations. We remind you that any requirement of the facility will have to take precedence over FPF should there ever be any contradiction (in which case we will ensure that the issue is clarified imminently.)

FPF appreciates your patience and thanks you for your trust in us through these unprecedented times. Players can rest assured that the league is doing its very best to keep its players and personnel as safe as possible.

Should the Government mandate a similar quarantine to the previous, or require the closing of sports leagues like FPF, a pro-rated refund system will be in place and the season would be canceled, and would not be postponed.
