Recapping a lightened week 7 schedule

Only 2 games this week in 35+, so let’s get right into the review of 2 games played this week in the Teams Division.

Teams Division

Monster – 35ers

35ers put together another strong outing and guarantee themselves a top 2 finish in the division.  They sweep the season series against Monster football with a second 12 point victory against their longtime rivals.

After a turnover filled week the previous week, 35ers offence had a solid week picking up five TDs and zero INT’s. Usual Defensive standout Jeff Brown had a big day on offence picking up 7 receptions for 70 yards and 2 TDs. Huge game for 35ers next week against The Leons, a win next week could lock up first place overall for them.

After putting together two big victories in a row Monster comes out flat and falls below the .500. Holding 35ers to 34 points is actually the best anyone has done all season but 22 points and completing only 11 passes won’t beat anyone in this division especially against the first place team. If the Defending champs want to repeat, they have 3 games left to gain momentum and make another deep playoff run.

Oldpack – Old Goats

Much like the game above, Old Goats gets credit for holding Oldpack to only 27 points, their 2nd lowest outing to date, but 12 points on offence won’t get it done.

Old Goats continue to struggle, starting strong and only down 1 point at half, they still can’t find the end zone enough to get their first win.  Tough day on Offence, while 6 different plays picked up receptions, 5 INT’s will kill your chances any day. Old Goats are talented enough to compete but keep just missing their chances to win.  Jason Rossie continues a strong season with his legs as he moves to the top of the leaderboard in Rushing, but they must find a way to breakout offensively or their post season will be short lived.

Oldpack’s Jean-Michel Alerte ate his Wheaties clearly and went off on Defence with 6 Tackles and 3 INT’s. Not a bad day’s work.  Oldpack takes on Monster this week and with a win, they can lock up a first round bye.

Playoff Outlook – Team Division

The top 3 teams in each division get a bye and teams 4 and 5 play in the Quarter Finals. So while you may finish 4th or 5th, you get the extra game, more bang for your buck

35ers – cannot finish lower than 2nd

The Leons – can finish anywhere from 1st  to 4th

Oldpack – can finish anywhere from 2nd to 4th

Monster Football – can finish anywhere from 2nd to 5th

Old Goats – can finish 4th or 5th so they will be playing in the quarter finals playoff game

And just like that week 7 is over, a full slate of games returns next week. Some great matchups on the schedule of the Teams Division as Monster takes on Oldpack and The Leons match up against the 35ers, both promise to be exciting games so stop by Kirkland, grab a beer and enjoy the show.

See you on the field.
