Quarterfinals for Coed 1!!

As I write this, the regular season has officially concluded, and we are currently in the playoffs. Many teams fought hard to secure their spots, with some successfully securing positions in the green zone of the standings while others fell short. For those who didn’t make it, we hope to see you next season! Now, let’s turn our attention to Coed 1 as their playoff season kicks off tonight with the quarterfinals taking place at the Laval Main. Let’s briefly discuss each team and make some predictions. Enjoy!

Coed 1

Zerosub and Les Petits Phoques were unable to advance, thus exiting before the playoffs. Congratulations to Zerosub for continually challenging themselves. Good luck for their upcoming tournaments!

Plenty Of Fish (1st seed) and Les Porcinets (2nd seed) have secured spots in the semi-finals, while EZFun will face off against The IG Team, and Party Mix will battle Kiss My End Zone. The winners of these matchups will advance to the semi-finals against the 1st and 2nd seeds next weekend.

EZFun vs The IG Team

The IG Team, despite a challenging start to the season, seems to have found their stride with their new quarterback, Ryth-Jean Giraud. Having played six games, he is eligible for playoffs. As a highly mobile player, also a CFL running back (correct me if i’m wrong), containing him and getting a sack will be a challenge for EZFun. They’ll need a solid rusher to contain him, as he’s adept at scrambling behind the line of scrimmage and finding open receivers. It will be up to EZFun’s defense to never give up their coverage and remain patient. However, EZFun’s defense, particularly their female athletes, should provide good matchups. On offense, Jeremy White will need strategic utilization of their female players that could potentially lead to scoring opportunities on every drive.

Despite The IG Team’s strong female players, EZFun’s defense should remain vigilant. As for the male athletes, they’ll need to focus on containing Jordanson Alexis. Though fast and is able to get open, EZFun’s defense should be able to limit his impact on the game. Since their last matchup featured different quarterbacks, tonight’s game promises an intriguing outcome…unless Jeanslee Alexis is back?

Quarter Final Winner: EZFun

Party Mix vs Kiss My End Zone

This matchup is intriguing, having occurred twice in the regular season. Kiss My End Zone won once (35-32) and lost recently (40-24) to Party Mix. However, Kiss My End Zone will be without their regular quarterback, and with Tam Vilaydeth stepping in. While losing him as a receiver is a setback, his familiarity with the team as a quarterback could mitigate the impact. Party Mix scheduled the game for 10 pm, possibly indicating concerns about playing without Jeremy Murphy, an outstanding player. However, both teams are at full strength except for Kiss My End Zone’s QB.

This game has been put at 10 pm for Party Mix’s player, Jeremy Murphy, to make it for this game. Does this show that maybe Party Mix are a little bit worried to play without Jeremy Murphy? As we all know he is an excellent player, no wonder he got drafted in the CFL, he does bring a lot to the offense and defense, therefore, playing without him can make a difference. Nonetheless, both teams are a full house except for Kiss My End Zone’s QB.

Both teams have a diverse array of players and share similarities in terms of skills and strengths. We have good route runners, speed, height, good female athletes, therefore this game will be quite interesting to watch.

The absence of their regular QB might not significantly affect Kiss My End Zone’s performance, given the teams’ familiarity with each other and having Tam playing QB in the season prior will defnitely help. Party Mix often utilizes their female players effectively, whereas Kiss My End Zone relies heavily on Marvin Steinberg, who is the current top receiver in Coed 1. They do tend to rely less on their female players when it comes to big plays such as touchdowns, however I hope Tam will change that aspect.

Tam will need to be wary of Jeremy Murphy’s defensive prowess, as he’s known for interceptions and remarkable jumping ability. Kiss My End Zone has seen it happen before that is why I am mentioning it, they also know what to expect from Party Mix so hopefully they do not repeat the same mistakes as before. The game tonight will determine which team communicates better on defense and executes effectively on offense. Whoever demonstrates that will be able to go play in the semi finals.

Quarter Final Winner: Party Mix

Since I play for Kiss My End Zone, I asked several people for their predictions, so this isn’t my personal prediction. Thank you.

All teams are playing against each other tonight in the Laval Main; winners from each game will now make their way to the semi finals next week. Good luck to everyone!
