Post week 8: Div C Edition

Week 9

Whats up Div C, I’m back with another article to cover what went on in week 8 and what we can expect to come in week 9. I would like to note that there isn’t much time between weeks so getting an article out before all the games begin has been a struggle so I apologize if my articles do seem to come out mid-week. Nevertheless I will continue to try to provide fun and thought provoking segments in my articles. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read my articles as I truly do appreciate the feedback and seeing everyone comment on the FB page. Well look at the updates Power rankings that havent moved much since week 8 was not a action packed week for Div C, and also a huge Game of the Week that I expect to be the most exciting game Div C has seen all season.

Weekly Headlines

Jaydan Melrose leads the pack in sacks

Melrose of the new FPF team All-Blacks has been one of their superstars as he currently leads the division with 11 sacks. Although their record of 2-5 hasn’t been all that impressive, his stats and their defensive performances have been nothing to shy away from. Rusher is one of the most pivotal positions on a defence and if Melrose can continue to put constant pressure on opposing Quarter Backs, it will show a difference on the stat sheet and toward their overall defensive ability. He’s on pace to be Div C’s All-Star rusher, and as a rusher myself, I say to Jaydan, keep up the hard work your effort has not gone unnoticed!

Speed Academy Vs Traptors??

I wish I had an explanation for why this game’s stats are not uploaded but in my experience this usually means a forfeit. Don’t quote me on this but I would assume Speed Academy would not forfeit a game against a bottom seeded team so that leads me to believe that Traptors were the once to call this one off. If that is true that could be it for Traptors as they could have just eliminated themselves from playoff contention with this lastest “loss” on their record.

  1. Les Petites Carottes 7-0

Another game another win for LPC. These dudes are on fire and show no sign of slowing down. Jason Reyes and company have the perfect balance of youth, athleticism and experience to win a championship and I can’t wait to see how this post-season will unfold. This win secures them a first round bye and one of the top 4 seeds but I know they won’t be satisfied with anything less then the #1 seed they have been working so hard for. An exiting matchup awaits them as they face Speed Academy in week 10, an extremely likely playoff matchup.

2. LeBrontourage 6-1

With no week 8 games schedules, LeBrontourage gets some well needed rest and stays here at #2 in the power rankings as the regular season comes to a close. A first round bye is almost locked in as one more win almost guarantees a top 4 finish.

3. Speed Academy 5-1

Two Very important games here in week 9 as Speed Academy can insert themselves back into the #1 seed race as they face off vs the Commission and LPC. Two very exciting games that will certainly have playoff implications.

4.  Sugar Daddies 5-2

Another team with a bye week last week in week 8. Not much to mention about this squad other than they have taken down every team when favoured. QB Jared Buck finds himself in the top 5 in every quarterback stat proving he is one of the best in the league. I would like to see him and Sugar Daddies take down one of the top dogs in the playoffs to really cement his standing in division C and FPF as a whole.

5. Jagerbomb 4-3

A big win against The Hustlers puts Jagerbomb on a two game win streak where their offence scored more then 40 points. Jean-Felix Daloze and Felix Fontaine-Larouche have been a strong one-two punch at WR this season totalling 22 touchdowns, over 600 yards and 7 converts. Through 7 games this offence leads the division in points for and touchdowns scored.

6. Coldest 3-4

Coldest are one of the only teams to plummet in the power rankings all season and that is simply due to the fact that they cannot be trusted. Their inconsistency and lack of a dependable roster makes this team shaky. With the number of sheer athletes and great football players, this team has to be disappointed with their 3-4 record. Lets see if the boys can pick it up heading into the final weeks of the season.

7.MOFOS 4-3

A huge 44-42 win against Big Fat Bats last week in what was an offensive explosion. As I said before, if Tiemoko Sanogo is win fact MOFOS QB, this is a completely different team then we have seen in the first 5 weeks. There isn’t a rusher in Div C that can contain him, and if a Qb continues to buy time, no defence will get stops. Expect more 40 point games from MOFO’S if Sanogo is in at QB.

8. Beer Belly Brigade 3-3

No week 8 game which means no movement for one of Div C’s on the rise team. I think this team has the potential to end the season 7-3 but one big challenge remains in week 10 versus Sugar Daddies. Will they continue to rise to the occasion and skyrocket in the power rankings or will Sugar Daddies prove they are a top 3 contender in the division.

Game of the Week

LeBrontourage (6-1)  Vs.  MOFOS (4-3)

This week’s Division C showdown features two of the most exciting offenses in the league as LeBrontourage (6-1) squares off against a revitalized MOFO’S (4-3) squad in what promises to be a high-octane battle. Just a few weeks ago, this matchup might’ve looked like a routine blowout in favour of LeBrontourage. But things have changed.

The X-Factor? Tiemoko Sanogo.
Since taking over at quarterback for MOFO’S, Sanogo has injected new life into the offense. His dual-threat capabilities and quick decision-making have turned MOFO’S into a legitimate contender, capable of putting up points in bunches. Through two games MOFO’s are 2-0 and Sanogo has thrown for 400 yards, 10 tds and only 1 interception. Add another 110 yards on the ground as his ability to run the football poses even more of a threat then his arm. With improved rhythm and chemistry on offense, MOFO’S enters this game with confidence and momentum. On the other side, LeBrontourage is still the team to beat. At 6-1, they’ve looked dominant throughout the season, executing with precision and discipline. Their only loss has come to the #1 team in the division. Their offense has been both creative and efficient, as Gianni Casati and his group of ex Concordia receivers have been on fire. But this week will test their defense more than usual. In their last 2 games their defence has given up a total 70+ points so it will be interesting to see how their defence handles yet another top offensive squad. What’s also worth noticing is how Lebrontourage will bounce back from their firs loss back in week 7.
What’s at Stake?
For LeBrontourage, a win keeps them atop the division and builds playoff momentum, keeping them in the hunt for the #1 seed. For MOFO’S, an upset here would prove they belong in the conversation with the division’s elite — and could drastically alter the playoff seeding landscape and any future predictions down the stretch of the season.

Prediction:
Expect fireworks. This game might come down to who has the ball last. LeBrontourage still holds the edge on paper, but with Sanogo at the helm, MOFO’S is no longer a team you overlook. Final Score Prediction: LeBrontourage 48 – MOFO’S 42 Buckle up — this one’s going to be a shootout.
