Mid Season Report Cards for Division 4A

Division 4A Report Cards

I’ve been extremely busy recently, I sincerely apologize for the lack of articles the past three weeks. Here are your mid-season report cards for Division 4A!

Les Otaries Extremes: A+

The most dominant team in Div 4A. Kris Verreault has been near perfect this season throwing only 1 pick and finding the endzone a whopping 27 times in only 5 games. He leads every single important QB stat with 27 TDs, only 1 interception, 965 yards, an incredible 84.5% completion percentage and a 137.3 QBR. Not only that, Kevin Malonga has been the most efficient receiver with 11TDs on 22 targets and Dimitri Melsbach has been a great second option with 7TDs in 5 games. Defensively, Oumar Toure and Xavier Sauve are respectively first and second in picks with 6 and 4. Who can stop them?

Bet Boost Ballers: C

With a team filled with stars in Oriola Poirier at the forefront, and Caleb Faulkner having a stellar offensive season at the QB position, the 2-3 record is very disappointing. The inability to win close games has held them back with their 3 losses combining for only a -6 differential, this team is way better than its record shows. Perhaps Mathew Simard only playing 2 games has cost this team defensively. Oriola Poirier has been the best receiver this season with 460 yards and 11TDs. The uber athletic Concordia receiver has exploded this season.

Still CRA: B+

This is Nirosh Suresh’s first full season at QB since 2015 and he has been only okay. His 11 interceptions are the worst in 4A and yet his team sits at a very respectable 3-2 record. Alexandre Baachalani has been dominant once again at receiver with 10TDs through 5 games but their defense has really been holding it down for this team. 9 interceptions through 5 games is still less than the amount Suresh has thrown but it’s near the top of the division for teams. If Suresh can limit the turnovers from here on out, this team has a chance of surprising come playoff time.

Ballz Deep: A

I thought this team was well constructed with a lot of depth and a good QB at the helm and I was proven right. Justin Weir has been very solid, throwing 17TDs to 5 interceptions in 5 games. His 111 QBR is very respectable and he has spread the ball well. Perhaps the lack of a true offensive superstar might come to bite them in the you know what come playoff time. Their defense has not been figured out yet but opposing QBs as they’ve only allowed 77 points through 5 games, notable holding Bet Boost Ballers to only 25 points.

Trapstars: A

Their only loss came in Week 1 against Born in the 80s in which they were without QB Ryan Garber. Since then, the team has gone 3-0 with Garber throwing 17TDs and only 4 picks in those games. James Wiseman has been phenomenal with 8TDs in 3 games and the team has picked off the opposing QB 11 times in those 4 games, sensational.

Idaho Udapimps: C

After two frustrating losses to start off the season in which QB Brady Ohanessian three 7TDs and 5 picks in a rather unusual manner, the team has bounced back with 2 solid wins against below-average teams in Step Brothers and Smitty Bacall Gang. Brady Ohanessian has thrown 9TDs and 0 interceptions but has only thrown for 165 and 183 yards in those games, which is rather uncharacteristic of him. Manu Allard-Roy has once again been dominant with 289 yards and 8TDs in those 4 games. The 9 interceptions on defense are encouraging.

Backfield Penetration: A

The 19TDs and only 3 interceptions thrown by both QBs Alessandro Barazzoni and Noah Di Lullo Langelier are encouraging, very encouraging. Their only loss came against a very good Trapstars team and they only lost by 3 points. Rony Ismeus has been dominant with 386 yards and 6TDs in those games, while also picking off the opposing QB 5 times. Perhaps this team lacks a bit of depth after Ismeus, Anthony Lazarra and Joseph Rokhendy but that is an issue that hasn’t cost them too much yet.

Big Fun: B

I thought this team would be exactly where it is at the moment, a mid-table team with around a .500 record. Evan Ely Nolet has been average, with 13TDs and 5 picks through 4 games. Rico Tulino, Devin Daoust and Zackary Alberts-Gill have all amassed over 130 yards throughout those games and the team only has 3 picks total. Zackary Alberts-Gill has been crushing it at rusher, as he usually does with 10 sacks in only 3 games.

Born in the 80s: B-

After a great 2-0 start in which they held opposing teams to only 6 points in each game, they’ve lost 2 in a row and scored only 20 and 24 points in those games. Oriola Poirier cooked them with 111 yards and 3TDs, to show perhaps that they’re not as good defensively as initially thought. Sanders Armand has been great on that side of the ball with 4 picks, and the team already has 10 total. Armand has also added a whopping 9TDs on the season, but the team seems to be lacking depth.

Les Blues Branleurs : C

They’ve now lost 3 in a row and scored 0, 26 and 6 points in those games. Olivier Pilotto has struggled to find the endzone recently and things are not looking good at the moment with some tough matches coming up.

Smitty Bacall Gang: D

They’re better than an 0-5 team and yet that is where they currently sit. Turmoil at the QB position as been their biggest issue with Jack Zergiotis being rated too highly to throw. They’ve turned to Matthew Campbell who has been solid but not good enough to beat three solid teams in Still CRA, West Island Boys and  Idaho Udapimps. The injury to Shamar Joassaint is also cause for concern and the low utilization of Jordan McInnis is also concerning. This is a team that could figure things out as they have the weapons and a capable QB, but their remaining schedule is tough.

Half Senders FC: C

This is a top heavy team with Sam Mashtoub and Jahnai Lewis, and Ryan McNally, but very lackluster depth pieces. Matthew Zeppetelli has been playing below expectations with 10TDs, 4 INTs and 6 sacks in 3 games, and it cost them in both of their losses.

West Island Boys: C

Zack Stacey has been way below his standards this season, which is kind of crazy to say considering he has thrown 9TDs and 3 picks in 2 games. The week one loss to LBB especially was questionable considering LBB don’t necessarily have an elite defense, and Stacey went 4:2 in that one. Skylar Bayliff has continued his dominant run and Ethan Adrian has stepped it up since Nick Di Maulo’s departure. The rest of the squad is barely getting involved, and Stacey will need more from a receiver like Julian Mclaren-Thompson. Adrian has shown once again why he’s an elite rusher in all of FPF with 11 sacks already.

Les Montagnards: F

This is not a bad team, definitely not an 0-4 team. Julien Fiset-Cyr has only thrown in 2 games, but he wasn’t great in those either with 6TDs and 3 picks. They’ve had to turn to Vincent Gingras at that position and he hasn’t been awful for a first time QB with 8TDs and 5 picks. The team also has yet to pick off the opposing QB. Just a terrible run of games and hopefully they can turn it around because there is talent on this team.

Mofos: C

Tiemoko Sanogo is an elite athlete but it hasn’t converted to the QB position this season. 8TDs and 8INTs in 4 games is bad. The wins they got weren’t convincing offensively and they’ll need to be way better against the teams they’re about to face. Their athleticism has kept them in games on the defensive side of the ball, but Sanogo has to be better.

Undisciplined Flaggers: C

Cory Sim-Robertson started at QB and things went terrible with him throwing 5TDs and 9 picks. They added Dan Mancini to throw, an elite player who had yet to play QB in FPF, and he’s been great. He lead his team to two convincing wins against good opponents, threw 6 TDs and 0 picks, whilst adding one on the run. Jack Antaki has been their leader defensively with 4 picks, and this team looks like it’s definitely heading in the right direction.

NOMADS: C

Justin Lavallee started at the QB position and then left and it’s been a struggle finding another QB for them. They started 3-0 (thanks to a forfeit) and last 2 games have just been a disaster. Obviously JR Verger has been very good and so has Tony Khoiry but if they don’t find a QB soon, this team will be in big trouble.

Step Brothers: D

Luis Begin is not a division 4 QB. He’s thrown 6TDs and 8 picks so far and has a 45% completion percentage. Samuel Sicard has been the only one who’s done anything significant on offense and the team hasn’t even gotten an interception yet. Luis Begin has ran for almost 200 yards in 3 games but only scored once with his feet. It’s not looking good at all.

There you guys have it for the mid-season report cards in Division 4A. The report cards for Division 4B will be available during the middle of the week.
