Inside the Redzone (D4) – Week 7

 

With four weeks remaining, the playoff race is heating up. By looking at the standings, there are many teams with identical records and that means the playoff picture will not be clear until the last week of season. Of course it goes without saying, there are three teams who have pretty much guaranteed themselves a playoff spot and they are Triple Sixers, Warriors and Time Bombs. All of these teams are 6-0 and are on top of the Sarwar Standings. For the rest of Division 4, get ready for a dog fight in the next few weeks. Remember, only the strong will survive. Simply put, the margin for error is so small that a win or a loss could mean the bottom of the division or the top. I’m going to enjoy watching everyone sweat and tough it out. Les Briscoe High Hawks ont perdu, encore!

 

Pour la deuxième semaine de suite, les Hawks (2-4) ont perdus leur partie (la semaine dernière contre Venom) et se sont situés au fonds de la Division du Nord en Conference B. Dans les 4 dernières parties, ils doivent gagner un minimum de trois pour avoir une chance d’aller aux series. C’est possible parce qu’ils affrontent les Falcons, les Cowboys et les Cobras Commanders qui ont un record combiné de 6-12. Ils ont besoin de maximiser leurs occasions et ca commence cette semaine contre les Falcons. J’espere qu’ils sont prets pour un bon défi. De l’autre coté, je suis impressionné avec Venom. Ils jouent vraiment bien et ont gagné 3 parties de suite.

 

Il reste une semaine

 

Les Triple Sixers et les Warriors s’affrontent dans la neuvième semaine mais le ‘hype’ à déjà commencé. Mon article la semaine prochaine va avoir une entrevue avec un joueur de chaque équipe. En ce moment, l’équipe la plus favorisé est les Triple Sixers par 6.5 points à « Las Vegas ». Je ne rentrera pas en details pour ce match, par contre, je suis certain que ca cera le meilleur match à date. Alors, ayez votre maïs soufflé prêt!!

 

Félicitations

 

J’aimerais féliciter les Tyrants et les X-Men pour leurs première victoire de la saison. Les Tyrants ont battus les Trapstars par le pointage de 26 à 6. J Kaliotzakis (les Tyrants) a passé pour 121 verges et 2 touchés. En plus, il a eu 33 verges de course et une touché. En defense, il a eu un ‘pick six’ (ou comme on dit en angais ‘il a intercepte la balle et la ramener a la maison’). Les Tyrants sont 1-5 et restent deux victoires derrière le meneur du division Nord en Conference B. Les X-Men (sans professeur X) ont gagné contre les Falcons par un pointage de 20 à 13. Même si les Falcons luttent cette saison, les X-Men ont merité la victoire. Gautama Swaminadhan (les X-Men) a passée pour 120 verges et 3 touchés, et en défense il a eu une interception. Les X-Men sont 1-5 et restent deux victoires derrière la deuxième equipe (les Sharks) en division Nord en Conference B.

 

Honnetement, ca va etre difficile pour les Tyrants et les X-Men de se qualifier pour les series. Mais ils peuvent construire sur leurs première victoires pour la saison prochaine.

 

Qui restera parfait?

 

En hiver 2009, les « Oiseaux Sales » ont pas perdus un match et ils ont gagné le championnat. Est-ce que quelqu’un peut les suivres cette saison? En ce moment, il y a seulment trois équipes qui sont parfaits. Par contre à la fin de la saison, le nombre d’équipes sera réduit à une. La raison est parce que les Triple Sixers joueront Warriors dans deux semaines et Time Bombs joueront Warriors dans trois semaines. C’est comme un ‘Royal Rumble’ des trois équipes. À la fin de la saison, seulement une équipe aura la chance de se joindre aux Oiseaux Sales dans la perfection.

3. Jordan Panetta (Served With Ice) 7-11, 133 verges, 3 touchés; 18 verges de la course et un touché.

 

2. Denis Beauregard (Marauders) 15-22, 212 verges, 4 touchés; en défense il a eu 4 plaqués et une interception.

 

1. N Brouard (Gieuth) 13-25, 218 verges, 5 touchés et un sack en défense.

Sarwar Standings

 

These take into effect overall record, x-factors, skills, clutchness and the STAR-warness. They are all contenders in my opinion. I’ll update this list on a weekly basis.

 

1. Triple Sixers (6-0): 265 points for in 6 games, best in division 4.

 

2. Warriors (6-0): 92 points allowed in 6 games, second best in division 4.

 

3. Time Bombs (6-0): Another week, another win. I am beginning to wonder if they are in the same class as Triple Sixers and Warriors but then again, I won’t have to wait too long to find out.

 

4. Gators (4-2): Their only two losses came at the hands of Triple Sixers and Warriors, the 4 games they won by average score of 30.5 to 14.75 so they’re a definite contender.

 

5. Balls Deep (4-2): Balls Deep had an impressive win over the snookers (Game Of The Week) in which they regained their contender status and show why Daron (WEPL personality) is high on this team.

 

6. Snookers (4-2): Two unfortunate losses to good teams slides them into the bottom half of the rankings however they still have 4 wins and enough talent to climb back up.

 

7. BOOM! Goes The Dynamite (4-2): An impressive win against Cobra Commanders but they have to beat the good teams, such as Venom whom they’ll face in week 10.

 

8. Venom (4-2): A huge win over the Briscoe High Hawks has them move two spots up in my power rankings. Jonathan Brown is doing an excellent job and we can see his confidence is growing.

 

9. Sharks (3-2-1): I am happy to see a veteran team have some success and crack the power rankings. Daniel Languay and Matthew Agozzino are doing a great job leading this team.

 

10. Marauders (3-3): It’s sad to see them at the bottom of the list however I do believe they’re picking up their game at the right time and with a few more wins, they can climb up.

Rehan’s Role Players (RRP)

 

This week I am naming two players as RRPs, a first time I have had co-winners. They are the Beauregards (Roger and Denis) from Marauders. They are definitely two of the franchise players for Marauders. In Winter 2008, they pulled off a few upsets to make it to the finals but lost to Hype. In Winter 2009, they lost to the Dirty Birds in the semis who ended up winning the championship. Any success of the Marauders is made possible because of the Beauregards. They both take turns playing QB, however, Roger is the chosen QB of the team but if Roger is unable to throw, Denis steps in and does a great job. Not to mention, they both can catch the ball and help out on the receiving end. Furthermore, they can do a good job on defense. What can’t they do?

 

If you speak to them about the Marauders, they will always credit everyone else on the team rather than themselves and the team is full of quite a few stars. The best of describing them is the following: they are the glue that holds the Marauders together. If I had a chance to play with any one of both of the Beauregards, it would be an honor. Therefore Mr. Roger and Denis Beauregard, you ARE RRPs!
