Div 4 Headlines

Bad time for a Ryan Karouf injury

Still C.R.A’s quarterback seemingly got injured back in week 8 in their match-up against 4th & Shlong. He was replaced by their top receiver Nirosh Suresh who finished the game with 3 TD’s and 3 INT’s and was unable to come out with the win. The unfortunate injury has led to 3 straight loses for Still C.R.A in an important time of the season. Their most recent loss came last week to Blue Dreamers where their offence just couldn’t keep up and only scored 14. Im not sure if Suresh is the only one on the roster who can manage playing Qb for this team but not having him out there at wideout definitely shows. For the remainder of weeks Karouf is out I suggest searching the FPF community for a sub for a week or two.

Dime and Bougie take down The R.E.E.T 46-32

I want to say I’m upset I missed watching this game live, but on march 4th I was enjoying myself on the ski slopes of Mont-Tremblant for my birthday weekend. With that said , boy did I miss a good one. As I mentioned in my mid-season report cards the only team that I thought had a chance at handing The R.E.E.T their only loss of the season was Dime and Bougie. AND DAMN THEY DELIVERED. Jules Regimbald of Dime and Bougie had himself a day throwing for 235 and 7 touchdowns. They did not turn the ball over and only punted once on this stout defence. Apart from their 2 INT’s The R.E.E.T didn’t have a bad day but their second half offence was nowhere to be found. An INT and a turnover down on their first 2 possessions of the second half thrusted Dime an Bougie ahead and they never looked back. This is a rematch I would love to see come playoff time.

Heart Break Kids 0-3 Slide

I haven’t spoken about this team in a while and their losing streak went absolutely under my radar. An Heart Breaking loss to voodoo last week puts their record at an odd 3-4-1. Their D needs to be better if they hope to split their remaining 2 games of the season as they have given up one hundred and seven points in their last 3. Its tough for an offence to ever get into rhythm when they’re constantly playing by behind. Their next game against Still C.R.A will determine weather this squad will end up in a must win situation in the last week of the season.

Phil Roberts IS the most sacked QB

The Vultures have turned their 0-2 start to the season around but if you looked at Phil Roberts INT’s and sacks on the season you would be surprised to see a 4-2 record. The athletes on this squad have kept the Vultures in close games and cause turnovers when needed most. I think offensively Phil Roberts need to trust his arm and his teammates more. He’s already been sacked 19 times already in only 6 games. Its an awful average that I think he can change before seasons end. Keep those feet moving Phil.

Spotlight Matchup Previews

Bruins (5-2) Vs. Bessette et Ses Potes (5-2)

Its 3 weeks in a row Gab Wisemen takes reps at quarterback and the Bruins haven’t lost since. Throwing a solid 11-2 TD-INT ratio and almost 150 yards rushing on this hot streak. Boasting a 5-2 record things are looking up for bruins as they are tied for first place in their group with Bessette es Ses Potes. Their remaining schedule is possibly the toughest stretch any team has faced an they have Bessette et Ses Potes, Kiss My Inlaws and Cunning Stunts lined up to end their season. I think that’s what keeps them away from finishing #1 in their group even if they win this game. That shouldn’t bother them too much as they should still have a winning season and be a team to watch in the post-season. If only Monday Night Football had matchups this interesting! This week 10 game can possibly be the decider between these two teams on who takes the #1 spot in group C. Frédéric Paquette-Perrault (still showing off his 0 INT season) knows how to lead this squad into the red-zone and convert time and time again as this unit has scored on 77.8% of their possessions all season. My prediction is that the Bruins defence will be no match for Bessete’s offence and they will outscore them 38-30

Martine et Le Flag (6-1) Vs. Wide Open Bar (7-1)

Another clash for the #1 spot in a group between Martine et Le Flag and Wide Open Bar. Wide Open Bar has continued to exceed expectations as their record sits at a comfortable 7-1. Their last game was a wild one as the held onto a 1 point lead vs. Les Bébés Magiques. Édouard Leroux continues to make an impact as he leads the team in receptions and touchdowns. If Bet 365 was a partner of FPF I would take him as an anytime touchdown scorer in this game. A win here for either team will secure the #1 spot in the group and a top 8 spot with a week 1 bye making this a crucial one. On the other side of the coin Martine et Le Flag have played superb football and have won games consistently this season only dropping 1 game to undefeated Kiss My Inlaws. I expected more from their offence back in their week 8 loss and will clearly need to score more then 14 if they want to win this matchup against a hot WOB team. Something that worries me about Martine et Le Flag is that they have only converted 7 of 29 extra point converts. This tells me they struggle in the redone and they are susceptible to losing close ones. For that reason give Wide Open Bar to win a wildly close one 43-42.

Top performers of week 9

QB: Jules Regimbald- Dime and Bougie

Beating an undefeated team will always put you in the conversation for QB of the week. When you do it int he fashion that Jules Regimbald just did, you get praise and then some. In this spectacular performance Regimbald Completed 70% of his passes for 235 yards and 7 touchdowns. They also converted for 4 extra points. An outstanding performance where perfection was demanded and he delivered. Super excited to see this whole group keep developing into stars.

WR: Danny D’amour- Friends with Danny

In this huge shootout between Kiss My Inlaws Friends with Danny it only makes sense that Danny was a top performer. Unfortunately his team was unable to come away with a win against a very good team after great effort. The wideout finished the game leading both major receiver categories this week with 150 yards and 4 touchdowns. This game shows that Jordan Allard and Danny D’amour have the potential to be the divisions best WR Duo. Hopefully this team can beat out MOFOS and secure a playoff spot.

DEF: Vincent Benjamin- Kiss My Inlaws

I haven’t been too impressed with Vincent Benjamin’s season thus far but he finally made an impact for Kiss My Inlaws. He’s a little over shadowed on offence but I still expect this former two way player of the year to produce more on at least one side of the ball. Only 1 INT prior this season but he was in his element as he picked off two passes an took one all the way to the house. Add in a tackle and 1 pass defence and you have our defensive player of the week. Hope to see more out if this guy as the season comes to close

2-Way: James Drysdale- Vultures

As the Vultures keep their hot streak going, the man himself James Drysdale put this vultures team on his back and carried them to victory. Their QB Phil Roberts threw an unfortunate 2 INT’s in their last game but James was there to bail him out as he got 2 INT’s back for his team. He was also the team leader in receiving, receptions and yards and topped this wonderful outing off this an offensive score! Needless to say he was everywhere
