Week 2

FPF has made its triumphant return and we have launched our first ever fall season.  The fall cup is an interesting concept.  It is a tournament that host multiple rounds and will lead to the coronation of a higher and champions across 10 bowl games.  Spreads have been set for preliminary round games and we already have seen some matchups that would never have been dreamed of in previous years.  While status quo played out, I do expect to see some upsets (not only against the spread but also in terms of actual outcomes.

Impressed / Disappointed

 By Simon Dagenais

Bringing back a fan-favorite segment, the Impressed/Disappointed weekly addition should continue to fire up the teams involved as we (each of the media member this season) give our unique takes on how people performed. Remember, we didn’t do this to you, YOU did this to you.

Impressed

Disappointed

·         All Hooks entered their week 1 game with a 10.5 spread to cover and finished with a 47 point lead. They looked absolutely dominant through and through. There is no stopping Charles-Olivier Lavigne.

·         Mean Machine is back and meaner than ever. Daniel Goloff was firing on all cylinders in his opener and there’s no stopping these guys this time around. Truly impressed with what they displayed so far.

·         Sons of Mitches looked GOOD in their opener; the team’s offence finally got rolling and the experience they’ve earned over the past few seasons is really paying dividends now.

·         FPF All-Stars (or some form of the Finest) didn’t look as dominant as I expected them to; all things considered. Sure, their offence rolled and there’s no stopping Kevin Wyeth when he has his weapons, but he did throw an interception and ONLY scored 20 in the first half? Their opponents were also without their top two rated players.

·         Although Voodoo did win, they couldn’t cover the spread against a brand new team and only earned 2 points. For most of the hour, the game was way too close for comfort and too many miscues left the team pondering. Can their early woes never surface again?

·         BearSkins suffered a major setback in their opening night as they lost to the 4th seed of their grouping. Without starting QB Neil Etinson, Gordon Hogan took the snaps, but it simlpy wasn’t the same.

·         Friends In Low Places started off the season with a BANG upsetting the previously favored BearSkins. They almost covered the spread the other way too! Danny D’Amour continues to impress as a two-way monster

·         It wasn’t always pretty, but Farmers kept it close against X-Men in their opening night proving there is more than meets the eye with these guys.

·         No Name managed an impressive feat; shutting out an opponent with week 1’s win 26-0. Sean Collins also fared quite decently in his first game under center.

·         Keyport Lock were under dogs against #NR.  However I expected Jeff Rosneblatt to put up more of a fight. More than anything, I felt as though “Rose” was simply playing too safe and it cost his team in a potential upset opportunity.

·         So X-Men did win and ultimately cover.  However, we all expected them to blow Farmers out of the water and instead Farmers remained submerged.

·         Hold My Beer did face one of the better versions of Lockdown in recent memory.  However, their defense looked lackluster as they allowed Pat riot to throw 6 touchdowns for the first time since July 6, 2015.

Impressed

Disappointed

Games of the Week

By Francois Martin

FPF Daily Fantasy

by Paolo Della Rocca

With the popularity of Daily Fantasy Football, Simom, Francois and I have decided to try our hand at fantasy football in an FPF context. Each week we will compete by choosing players while respecting a cap that is determined by player ratings and the spread for their games.  So a player who is favored will cost more than their typical rating while a player who is an underdog will cost us less than their typical value. We will start this next week and more information about roster construction and scoring.

In essence, it would have been ready for this week but Eagle is not flexible and unimaginative so we’ve needed to pivot and change directions.  We will begin this segment starting next week.

Week 2 Is On The Horizon

With Week 1 off the books, and wek1 of the NFL season concluding this evening we get ready to kick off our second week.  Best of luck to all teams involved.  Remember that you can catch our weekly podcast live Thursdays at 7:15 pm and we can be found on www.youtube.com/flagplus or it can be downloaded on most podcast apps.  If you have input/questions/just wanna talk fpf please feel free to reach me @PeezeFPF on most social media platforms and by messaging Peeze Della Reeze on Facebook.
