Confusing Tie’s and a bunch of R.E.E.T’s

What’s FPF fam, thanks for tuning in for another Div 4 article. Week 5 is set to kick off Saturday night at brossard and we have an amazing slate of games this week. Many potential future playoff matches incoming! Just a little reminder once again, if you plan on adding anyone to your roster this is the perfect time to do so as you need 5 games played minimum to be playoff eligible.

The Super Bowl matchup has been decided and although ill save my predictions for another article I will say that this is the last time both #1 seeds have made it to the show since 2017 when my New England Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 52. Idk about you guys but these Eagles look way scarier then that 2017 squad that won it all. Either way this is the best time of year for football. NFL playoffs and the FPF season well under way. Lets get to the action

Ramblings of the week

  • Trapstars take back to back losses as they were without Ryan Garber this week.
  • A hot 12 point start for Top G’s ends in smoke as they ultimately lose to Dime and Bougie 30-12
  • The R.E.E.T score 39 as QB Santino Sparagna sits this one out offensively due to small injury
  • Kiss my Inlaws keep it rolling as they enter week 5 undefeated
  • Patrick Mahomes should be the leagues unanimous MVP next Saturday night
  • Wide Open Bar take care of MOFOS as they were missing their top target Wedens Alexandre
  • The Sheriff Knock off Bruins for their first win of the season!!
  • Phil Roberts has is work cut out for him this week as he averages 2 INT’s a game and is set to play the Dime and Bougie defense who has created the most turnovers in Div 4 so far with 9 INT’s

Hot Sauce Sports vs. Cunning Stunts wild matchup ends in a Tie….Or was it?

Last Monday night Hot Sauce Sports (HSS) took on Cunning Stunts. It was an exiting game from both teams as HSS had the upper hand and moved the ball with ease leading 23-12. HSS scored one more time with time expiring in the first half and opted to go for 1. This extra point play was successful but unfortunately there was a score keeper error and the point was given to Cunning Stunts, so instead of 30-12 the score was shifted 29-13. Before half with only few plays remaining Cunning stunts were able to score a TD and a 2-point conversion. Cunning Stunts continued to close the deficit as they were also fortunate to receive the ball first in the second half. They did what they needed to do and scored once more and adding another 2-point conversion to tie up the game 29-29. The teams traded Touchdowns once again but it was HSS with he opportunity to score the 1 point convert and win the game. Thanks to HSS QB and Calling the audible Host I was provided with this video of how the game came to its unfortunate end.

Although technically HSS won the game as Cunning Stunts were given an extra point, this error influenced how Cunning Stunts played and decisions they made weather to go for 1 or 2 points in the final minutes of the game. Ultimately we hate to have situations like this happen and the only way to have a fair result would be to call this game a draw.

Division 4’s week 5 Spotlight Matchup Previews

Season prediction record (4-4)

Blue Dreamers (2-1)  vs. The R.E.E.T (3-0)

The R.E.E.T as a franchise have yet to be beaten. Going 13-0 in winter 2022 in Div 5A, and extending that streak this year in div 4 going 3-0 so far. It would be my absolute pleasure to give this team full of my old tackle football teammates their first loss. Although that will be easier said then done. With arguably the best mobile Qb in the division who also plays rusher??, their offence takes care of the ball and scores touchdowns. Their one two punch at WR with freak athlete Dawson Pierre and Dante Sparagna this team is a whole lot to handle at once. I wish I could say those other guys I haven’t named aren’t any good at football but you would be dead wrong to think so. Truth is, this will be our biggest challenge of the season for Blue Dreamers. As a team that has turned over twice a game, thats something Im not sure we can even do once if we want to stay in the game with The R.E.E.T. Another stellar performance from Nick Groppini and Anthony Lazarra and some stout defence would put Blue Dreamers in a position to win this game. Unfortunately I will not be offering my prediction this game, what I will say is this is going to be a wild, fun matchup between our two teams this Sunday night. I highly recommend to anyone reading to come out and enjoy this friendly but highly competitive game. @Santino im coming for u

Martine Et Le Flag (3-0)  vs.  MOFOS (2-2)

Martine Et Le Flag are another member of the small club of undefeated teams in Div 4. They take on the very hot and cold MOFOS. Martine Et Le Flag have been clicking so far this season averaging 35 points a game. The teams offensive success has also been a team effort having all but one member of the team scoring at least 1 TD. Their rusher Philippe Boyer has also been putting in work with 6 sacks on the season. With an average of 2 sacks a game he can impact their defense in a really positive way and keep their streak of holding opponents to less than 20 points a game alive. MOFOS have had their seasons up and downs going 2-2 so far. My issue with this team is that they lack defensive fire power and won’t be able to defeat tougher teams in the division. This will be a huge game for MOFOS as their defence will be tested once more and losing against another top opponent will take away from their confidence heading into the playoffs. I predict Martine Et Le Flag to stay undefeated another week and take down MOFOS 36-21. The lack of pressure on opposing Qbs and rarity of turnovers will lead MOFOS to take another loss.

Bruins (2-2) vs.  Friends With Danny (1-3)

Needless to say, I expected both of these teams to have better records then they both have at this point. Im believe that Gab Wiseman’s elbow injury is holding this team back as he has not played QB since week 1. Kristopher Verreault has stepped in and has played okay but their turnovers must see a decline sooner rather then later especially if Wiseman can’t play under center for the foreseeable future. The Bruins have an opportunity to string along a few wins, after losing a one possession game to the Sheriff, before they play top teams in the division before the season comes to a close in week 11 and 12. Their opponent this week is Friends with Danny. I haven’t paid much attention to this squad as of late but they are definitely a team to watch as I do think they have the ability to win this game despite their record. I firmly believe this team can be .500 or just above come week 9. Friends with Danny have had a hard time getting offences off the field. Being one of the only teams in the division who have yet to record a sack, must make it difficult for those DB’s to cover all night long. The team has also only snagged 1 INT in 4 games. If they want to start putting games into the win column they’re going to need to play better defensively. I don’t fully trust my prediction here but I’m going to have to go with Friends with Danny for the win. Ill take them to win a tight one 29-27 where their defense finally starts getting some turnovers.

Top performers of Week 4

Qb: Iggy Manzanedo- Kiss my Inlaws

Iggy Manzanedo continues to lead this team to victory as Kiss my Inlaws sit happily at 4-0. After we saw 1 7 TD performance in 3 weeks. Iggy gifted us another one week later against Les Bébés Magiques. He finished the game with 28 completions, 280 yards and 7 TD’s. After missing week 2, Iggy had to catch up to some of the divisions Qb’s and their season stats. A 7 TD performance will definitely do that and along with their perfect record puts him in the conversation for the divisions best QB.

Wr: Nicholas Groppini- Blue Dreamers

Just one week after his fantastic 2-way performance, Nick comes out and delivers a stunning offensive game, he led the Blue dreamers and the League in weekly yards and TD’s ending the game with 130 yards and 4 TD’s!! Nick Groppini has identified himself as the Blue Dreamers #1 wideout and is aiming for his first Individual award of his FPF career.

Def: Luis Begin- The Sheriff

Luis Begin said enough is enough as he put the team on his back to carry them to their first win. The Sheriff has had their share of snuggles so far but not this week. This week couldn’t have gone better as Luis Begin was everywhere on defence and he finished the game with 3 Interceptions! Having not thrown one himself, a near perfect game from Luis allowed the Sheriff to upset the Bruins. They hope to carry this momentum and get a few more wins down the road if they hope to keep their playoff hopes alive.

2-Way: Will Power – Hot Sauce Sports

I have been patiently waiting for Will to have a feast in Div 4. In this confusing end between Hot Sauce Sports and Cunning stunts, what isn’t confusing is that Will Power has got that dog in him. 50 yards and a pair of touchdown on offense and 2 INT’s on defence is exactly the role Will has to play on HSS If they expect to be competitive against the divisions top teams. Their offence has been playing well but their defence has needed improvement. If Will can create turnovers on defence HSS will be a team to fear as the season progresses.
