Bombsquad’s Breakdwon (Div A & B) – Week 4

My, my, my. Another week in the books and some great games to review. The week basically went according to plan but it doesn’t change the fact that we see some very interesting competitions each week. So let us breakdown the past week shall we?

Countdown to detonation.

5. DA Finest poured it on the Rainmakers 40-20 in a surprisingly lopsided victory. These teams usually go neck in neck although it must be said that the Rainmakers were without many of their stars like 2 way players Ben Leger and Teddy Frenette as well as defensive players Mike Samman and Addley Dufour. Yet DA Finest mostly had their full squad including the return of Pat Jerome. Kevin Wyeth spread the ball evenly amongst his team as he had 6 TD passes on 185 yards. Kastner had a rough outing. Gaining only 136 yards and throwing 3 TD’s with an INT. C.A Sinotte continues to fuel the offense with his 8 grabs for 56 yards and 2 TD’s. Are the Rainmakers chances at playoffs almost gone?

4. The Alkaholiks had a tougher match than they anticipated as they defeated AAA 40-31. Paul Lapierre had a decent game as he threw 6 TD’s but also 2 INT’s. The Pilon twins accounted for half of those touchdowns while Jon Lyristis had the most catches with 7. Francois Lebeau hooked his brother up as usual, throwing Marc-Andre 7 passes for 66 yards and 2 TD’s. The rest was well distributed. The game was back and forth most of the way but the Alks salted it away in the final minutes. Great showing by AAA and business as usual for the Alks.

3. The Mercenaries pound the Triple Sixers 34-12. The Sixers continue to struggle to get into the end zone, scoring only 1 offensive TD this game. Thank God for Nicolas Arsenault-Hum who had a pick 6 or this would have been awful. The game was close at the half, going back and forth, but the second half told the tale. The only big surprise for the Mercs is Carmine Pollice did not get in the end zone. Sean Kennedy was the big weapon on this day with 5 grabs for 74 yards and huge 4 touchdowns. Di Fazio was efficient with 5 TD’s thrown and 2 interceptions.

2. The Roosters & Donkeys destroyed the Maniax 39-7. Scoop Gentile is now running an error free offense and completed passes to 7 different receivers. Marco “Sleeves” Masciotra once again found the end zone twice. Matt Kirouac sacked speedster Rapha Beladjiat 3 times. It was a rough game for the speedster as he faced a very strong R&D defensive side. Only 7 completions with 1 TD and 5 interceptions. Very rough game for the Maniax. But they still have time to pull it together. R&D is looking very good with the offensive scheme.

1. The Jonesers remain winless as they fall to Daron World Wide 25-6. Eric Rapps had a rough game at QB with more picks than touchdowns. Ryan Lelinowski remains the only real bright spot at the moment as he had 12 of the 16 completions for 126 yards and lonely TD. On the other side, Alex Lever did what needed to be done with 4 TD passes and 143 yards passing. The Bishara brothers, Matt and Eric, both scored and led the team in yards while Jordan McLaren and Gordon Hogan spearheaded the defense with a pick each. These are two teams heading in different directions.

BOOM! Like the lid of the toilet seat dropping in the bathroom and startling everyone in the building.

Guess we should hand out some individual awards as well. So let’s take care of that now.

DA

My Golden Boy this week is C.A. Sinotte for the Rainmakers who seems to shine each week even when his team struggles as he had 8 catches and 2 TD’s.

My SHOWSTOPPA this week has to beat Matt Kirouac who recorded 5 sacks and even won 5$ in the process!!!

DB

My Golden Boy is Sean Kennedy from the Mercs for his 4 TD performance against a talented Triple Sixers defense. Monster game, kid!

My SHOWSTOPPA has to be Nicolas Arsenault-Hum who did what he could to help his team with a pick six in desperate hope of helping his team locate the end zone in their game of “Where’s Waldo?”

If you listened to the Podcast then you know it is that time of year again. Some things float threw my head and now at least, they have somewhere to go…in my segment.

Bombsquad’s Random Thoughts.

Why in the world does Ryan Lelinowski have the word “Sauce” tattooed on his shoulder? What kind of sauce? Spicy, sweet, sour? Is it a béchamel sauce perhaps?

If you check out the receiving stats Rochdi Benabdelkader’s numbers are combined between 2 teams so please don’t think he is all that and a bag of chips.

Is it true that the little r thingy hit a jackpot in Atlantic city so he decided to next hit Vegas where he spent multiple nights with Tom Jones, a team of escorts, 3 contortionists from Cirque De Soleil and Sasha Baron Cohen??

I know AAA’s name contains Alex and Ass but what is the third A mean? If you play on DA Finest then you know what I have suggested (Pat Jerome and Akked Moore) but this is a family show.

I may make fun of his inability to catch a Wyeth pass, but has anyone noticed that Matt Kirouac has 14 sacks and 4 PD’s? Between 2 teams but still impressive.

How can “Sleeves” possibly have 4 INT’s? QB’s stop playing R&D when you are half in the bag whacked on schrooms.

Still very disappointed that DWW didn’t instead choose the name D B on the front of their jersey’s and “Ouche Ags” on the back instead.

Will Karim Binette overtake Akked Moore in INT’s?

Will Scoop Gentile buy chocolates for Kevin Wyeth in thanks for a certain conversation?

Will Leo Gervais search me out and take me down for doing an impression of him on the Podcast?

Will Carmine Pollice one day be handed receiver of the year and his Golden agers card on the same day?

Has Antonio Lanni finally remembered that he is NOT Giovanni? (You still look like you just off loaded from a pirate ship.)

Will Eric Rapps start using Dave Chitayat more or will Chitayat snap and eventually leading him to start defending the routes of his teammates?

If the FPF was a flower, what type of flower would it be?

Now let us take a look at this week’s matchups!

Daron World Wide gets a shot at revenge against AAA. After losing by 3 in a week 1 shootout, the teams face off once again. Former teammates renew this new rivalry which is very entertaining to watch. AAA QB Lebeau actually picked off Lever in the first match. What will happen this time? I think that AAA looked very strong against the Div A Alkaholiks giving them a run for their money. But DWW also looked strong against the Maniax. Alas, one team must win. And while I see the potential in DWW, I think the long standing chemistry of AAA will win out once again. But let’s hope for another shootout!

The Rainmakers face the Maniax. After their big loss to the DA Finest, I have a feeling they will want to make statement which is bad news for the Maniax. Maniax have a talented team but the Rainmakers are amongst the cream of the crop and they will definitely not want to continue on their current path. Count on a Rainmakers victory.

DA Finest face the Triple Sixers. These are 2 very different teams. The Sixers have a very hard time finding the end zone. DA Finest have a very hard time NOT finding the end zone as they are the highest scoring team in the league. Of course anything can happen on any given week so let us see how this turns out. If the current history holds up, this could be a very long night for one team.

The Alkaholiks face the Doosters & Ronkeys. This is a very interesting game as R&D has a very explosive team but Alkaholiks are undefeated and look to stay that way. The problem for R&D is that they may have a very strong defense but they are facing some of the best receivers in all FPF. I will be curious to see how well R&D move the ball against the extremely strong Alks defense. I will still take the drunken little r thingy on this week.

Finally the Jonesers face the Mercenaries. This is another interesting game. The Jonesers keep improving but they will be facing the veteran laden Mercs squad. While I expect Lelinowski to have yet another big game, I do not think it will be enough to overcome the Mercs. Di Fazio and company should win this matchup.

Almost halfway there,

The time is running out.

Time to step up your game,

Or this may be your last bout!

That is it for this week’s breakdown. You can tweet me @DonaldWShepherd or email at [email protected] with your own random thoughts and predictions for who will win or lose. Until next time, another week has been defused.
