Award Predictions and a Hot Bible Study

Welcome back to another edition of div C. The season is in full swing as we’ve almost reached week 5 of the season already. This point of the season is really where teams can start pulling away from the middle of the pack and secure a top 12 spot and a round 1 bye in the playoffs. Crucial matchups and performances are needed to get important wins and get those season totals up for the award races. In this weeks article I give my regular season award winner predictions cover an exciting matchup and once again give you my picks for this week. So without further delay lets hop into it.

Weekly Headlines

Benoit Lawler almost reaches 1k passing yards in 4 games.

Benoit Lawler QB of FlagFools has thrown a league leading 988 yards in 4 games. At the moment he also leads the division in touchdowns with 24. The team is 2-2 after 4 weeks of the spring season. Benoit is definitely propelling this team forward as they have lots of cap space for Div C and one of their losses came to Backyard Bullies by 1 point where Lawler threw 200 yards scored 5 times and did not turn the ball over. I think he will have an outstanding year but I think the teams few losses after playing teams like KMI and Dime and Bougie will hold him back from winning the award this season.

5 teams remain undefeated, which one is most likely to end 10 weeks perfect.

After 3 full weeks only 5 teams remain undefeated. Shaks, Bessette et Ses Potes, dime and bougie, Kiss My Inlaws and Backyard Bullies have all won every game.  Bible study have not lost but tied their last season so they can’t finish the season 10-0. The Sharks have put up the most points of all 5 undefeated teams due to their double header week but their offence is one of the best in the league. The team with the best +/- is Bessette et Ses Potes showing their successful offence and strong defence. Its hard to predict which of these powerhouses will finish the season undefeated as most of these teams listed above play each other late in the season so its very possible that none of these teams end with an unbeaten record. If I had to choose a team it would have to be Dime and Bougie. They have a QB who is surly one of the top Quarterback’s in div C and their defence is one of the best in the league when it comes to turnovers and points against. Their schedule compared to the others seems like an easier route to and undefeated season.

Yearly award Predictions

QB of the Year:

Frederic Paquette- Perrault:  Bessette et Ses Potes (3-0)

It is becoming increasingly evident that QB Fred Paquette-Perrault of Bessette et ses Potes is on a remarkable trajectory this season. His exceptional performances in the first three weeks have showcased his pinpoint accuracy and ability to lead his team to big W’s. Based on his current stats and the impact he has made, it is highly likely that he will be a strong contender for the QB of the Year award and he is my favourite to win the award. With 60 completions out of 74 attempts, Perrault boasts an impressive completion rate of 81.1% which is 1st in the league. This level of accuracy is crucial for a quarterback and demonstrates his ability to consistently find open receivers and deliver precise passes. His 624 yards passing indicate not only his proficiency in gaining significant yardage but also his effectiveness in moving the chains for his team. However, it is Perrault’s touchdown-to-interception ratio that truly sets him apart. With an impressive 17 touchdowns and zero interceptions, he has exhibited exceptional decision-making and ball security. If he keeps his INT’s for the season at 0 again this season I would find it hard to find another quarterback deserving after all 10 games are completed.

Another remarkable aspect of Perrault’s performance is his ability to avoid sacks. Despite facing some good rushers, he has not been sacked even once this season. This speaks to his pocket awareness, agility, and ability to make quick decisions under duress. Ive rushed his before and his frame and long strides make it hard to be an impact in the game.

Considering Perrault’s outstanding accuracy, his ability to protect the ball, and his success in evading sacks, I think he will be a front-runner for the QB of the Year award. If he maintains this level of play throughout the season and continues to lead Bessette et ses Potes to victories, it would be hard to overlook his season when deciding on who will be the QBOY.

WR of the Year

Jordan Panetta- Game Changers (3-2)

When it comes to the WR of the Year award, there is no denying that Jordan Panetta of Game Changers is a strong contender. Panetta’s outstanding performance in the first four games of the season has already put him at the forefront of the conversation for this accolade. Panetta’s impressive stats speak for themselves. With 24 catches, the most in the league, and 31 targets, he has demonstrated his exceptional ability to consistently get open and make crucial receptions and be the #1 option for game changers. This high catch rate not only showcases his reliable hands but also his connection with his quarterback

Accumulating 340 receiving yards in just four games further solidifies Panetta’s case for the award. He leads all other receivers by 60 yards or more. His ability to create separation, find open spaces in the defense, and gain significant yardage after the catch has made him a constant threat to opposing defences. Moreover, Panetta’s seven touchdowns, tied for the league lead, highlight his impact in the red zone and his ability to find the end zone consistently.

What makes Panetta a reliable prediction for this award is his impressive track record. Going for his 5th yearly award and 7th All-Star appearance, he has consistently showcased his excellence over the years. This level of sustained success and consistency demonstrates Panetta’s commitment to his craft and his ability to consistently perform. If he continues to dominate opposing defences, make key receptions, and find the end zone, Panetta will undoubtedly be a top candidate for this esteemed honour. His exceptional performance, combined with his past accolades and All-Star appearances, make for one of the top receivers Div C has to offer.

DPOY

Arthur Doyon- Dime and Bougie (3-0)

On the defensive side of the field there is a lot of people I can name that have played well to start the season and Player of the Year award, Arthur Doyon of Dime and Bougie has already established himself as a formidable contender. Despite playing only two games so far, his exceptional performance on the field has been truly outstanding. Doyon’s statistics speak volumes about his impact on the defensive side of the game. With three interceptions in just two games, he has showcased his ability to read the opposing quarterback, anticipate routes, and make game-changing plays. These interceptions not only disrupt the opponent’s offensive rhythm but also provide valuable opportunities for his own team to capitalize on turnovers. With a QB like Jules Regimbald just one INT in a game in enough for him to capitalize on and turn the tides of a game.

One of Doyon’s most notable attributes is his speed, which allows him to cover the entire field effectively, particularly when tested deep. His exceptional athleticism enables him to keep up with fast receivers and make plays on the ball, making it challenging for opposing offenses to exploit deep routes in the passing game. Doyon’s speed and coverage abilities make him a game-changer and a nightmare for quarterbacks trying to stretch the field.

Considering Doyon’s impact on the game, his ability to create turnovers, and his speed and coverage skills, he is a strong candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year award. If he continues to make game-altering plays, disrupt opposing offenses, and showcase his versatility throughout the season, it will be hard to overlook his contributions when selecting the award recipient. Doyon’s exceptional performance and playmaking abilities make him a top contender for the Defensive Player of the Year award this season.

2-Way player of the year

Quaysie Gordon-Maule: Sharks (4-0)

Quasie Gordon-Maule of the Sharks has been an exceptional two-way player, with his remarkable skills on both offense and defense. With his impressive performances in the first four games of the season, he has firmly positioned himself as a strong for the Two-Way Player of the Year award.

On offense, Gordon-Maule’s statistics speak for themselves. Amassing 238 yards and 6 touchdowns in just four games, he has proven to be a dynamic playmaker. Whether it’s making clutch catches, breaking tackles, or finding the end zone, Gordon-Maule consistently delivers impactful performances that contribute to his team’s offensive success. His ability to create big plays and score touchdowns demonstrates his versatility and effectiveness as an offensive weapon.

Defensively, Gordon-Maule’s contributions are equally impressive. With two interceptions, including a pick-six, he has showcased his exceptional ball-hawking skills and ability to disrupt opposing passing attacks. These interceptions not only provide valuable turnovers but also swing momentum in favor of his team. Additionally, his four bat-downs indicate his knack for defending passes and disrupting the opposing offense’s rhythm. Gordon-Maule’s ability to make crucial plays on defense highlights his impact on both sides of the ball.

The combination of Gordon-Maule’s offensive and defensive contributions makes him a prime candidate for the Two-Way Player of the Year award. His ability to excel on both sides of the field, making significant plays and impacting the outcome of games, sets him apart from others. Gordon-Maule’s versatility, production, and impact on offense and defense make him a frontrunner for this esteemed honor. If he continues to perform at this high level throughout the season, consistently making an impact on offense and defense, his dual-threat abilities make him a top contender for the Two-Way Player of the Year award this season.

Spotlight matchup

Prediction record: (1-2)

Bible Study Vs.  Hot Sauce Sports

This upcoming matchup between the Bible Study and Hot Sauce Sports promises to be an intriguing clash of contrasting stories and playing styles Sunday night. Both teams have had varied starts to the season, setting the stage for an exciting and unpredictable contest.

Bible Study enters the game with an impressive 2-0-1 record and a reputation for offensive dominance. Led by their dynamic QB-WR combination of Rocco Christiano and Jarryd Taylor, they have consistently put up points and posed a significant challenge to opposing defences. Christiano’s ability to read the field and make accurate throws, combined with Taylor’s speed and reliable hands, has made them one of the most dominant duos in the entire league. Bible Study’s offensive ability will certainly be a focal point in this matchup. On the other hand, Hot Sauce Sports have had a mixed start to the season. Transitioning from Winter Division 4 to Division C, they experienced a heavy defeat in their opening game but rebounded with a hard-fought victory against the Trapstars, defying expectations. This rollercoaster ride indicates that Hot Sauce Sports is a team capable of surprises. Their resilience and ability to bounce back could make them a challenging opponent for Bible Study.

The contrasting trajectories of both teams add an element of unpredictability to this matchup. Bible Study’s offensive firepower will undoubtedly test the Hot Sauce Sports’ defense, while the underdog mentality of the Hot Sauce Sports could inspire them to rise to the occasion. It will be interesting to see how the Hot Sauce Sports adapt their strategies to counter the Bible Study’s potent offense and whether they can continue their momentum from their recent victory. This matchup presents an opportunity for Hot Sauce Sports to prove their mettle against a team that has established itself as a force to be reckoned with. Conversely, Bible Study will seek to maintain their offensive dominance and solidify their position at the top of the league. Expect an exciting, hard-fought battle between these two teams, where anything can happen on the field.

I predict this game to be close but I don’t see anyone on that Hot Sauce defence who fill be able to contain Jarryd Taylor. I think he goes off for 100 yards plus and 2 scores and rides into the sunset with the win 42-30.
