Another defeat…

Welcome back, this week I will recap some of the games that happened during the previous week, we’ll see what happened, who won, etc. I’ll also be giving a fantasy team of the week from the players that did a great job offensively and defensively from the past week.

Coed 1

EZFun 31-43 The IG Team

After winning against ZeroSub, they now have lost again but this time against The IG Team. This week they were missing Jean Christophe Ferland which plays a huge part on defense and offense. Did his absence affect this teams lost? Could they have won if he was present at the game? Other than that, Jeremy White has been using his females a lot lately. I would say that EZFun might be the only team who has had more girls do great plays than the majority of the guys on their team. We have Frédérique Daoust who is phenomenal right now. She has gained another 2 touchdowns and another interception. Games are always different but I believe when the defense gives the girls a chance to be open, Jeremy isn’t afraid to throw to his female players. Another female player that got 2 touchdowns this game was Florence Leonard, gaining 33 yards for 2 passes. Defensively, Nicolas Blais made many tackles, 6 to be more precise, just like every game. He is now at a total of 25 tackles in only 4 games. I believe this number will go up by a lot by the end of the season. 

They have only played 2 games, but this is there first victory as the first one was a tie! Jeanslee Alexis… a beast?! He threw for 6 touchdowns, 191 yards but on the other hand, on defense he got 10 tackles and 3 interceptions to which one of them were a pick 6. Similarly, I believe he has a good receiver/QB connection with his brother Jordanson Alexis since this game he got 3 touchdowns for 97 yards. He is also using his female players when he can, Jayfa Jones and Stella Jean Georges both got many yards and a touchdown each, while Penelope Fortin got a 1 point convert towards the beginning of the second half.

Les Petits Phoques 28-29 Kiss My End Zone

A very interesting and close game happened on Monday night. The stats are very confusing as Dom Lefort only threw for 93 yards? And only ran 59 yards? Seems to me like Kiss My End Zone came with a game plan that night and they successfully executed it. However, as expected, Dom Lefort used all of his players, 8 players got at least a ball and some yards…well almost all of their players only got 1 ball as he only has 10 completions. However, they did manage to get 3 touchdowns offensively, to which 1 was a run by Dom, and Etienne Maillé-Deviau who got a pick 6.

On the other hand, Ignacio Valdes Manzanedo threw 3 interceptions?? That means Les Petits Phoques defense were where they needed to be. He did throw a lot more yards than the other QB, 214 yards and 4 touchdowns offensively. 2 of those were Isiah Allard’s, to which I believe Ignacio used his height as an advantage against that team. They had a girl replacing that game, Marie-Eve Girard which got a touchdown. A touchdown more than any women currently on their team. Are Kiss My End Zones women up to the level of coed 1? Or just that the defense are not allowing the female players to be open on offense? They all have minimal passes and yards to their name, hopefully this changes by the end of the season as I’d like to see female players excelling in this division. 

In all, this game really game down to the converts. Les Petits Phoques were successful for 2 of the 2 point converts. Kiss my end zone also got 2 of 2 point converts and an additional 1 point convert in the last remaining 5 plays. Therefore, Kiss My End Zone, being behind 12-8 at the end of the first half, was able to come back up and score 21 points in the second half to win the game.

Coed 2

Who’s Gonna Carry The Boats 20-19 Team Rocket

Teams Rocket getting their first loss of the season after having a 3 win streak. Unfortunately, the stats from this game are not complete. There are a lot of stats missing therefore I cannot analyze this game. However, from the score I can determine that this game was a close one and I believe it came down to who was able to get the converts. Who’s Gonna Carry The Boats were able to get 1 convert more than Team Rocket. 

I believe this will be one of the few losses they are gonna get this season but I am very excited for them to play against Pig 6 who are also succeeding in this division. This matchup will determine who the real winners are.

Kanikule 35-32 Balls Deep

Balls Deep getting their second loss of the season, they are now 2-2. Benjamin Carli did throw 5 touchdowns, to which 3 of those are Steven Fioriti‘s. They continue to have a good offense however other teams are able to read them well and make plays against them.

Kanikule, leading from Athena Ryan, their QB. Threw 4 touchdowns and never got intercepted. She had an amazing line up of players at her disposal and uses every single one of them. An interesting stat is the one from Ezechiel Tieide who ran the whole field in one play to gain a touchdown, this was also done during the first play of the second half. I don’t think Balls Deep were ready for that as they were not able to deflag him.

On the other hand, rushers don’t seem to be talked about a lot but they are a huge difference when playing. Maria Mansseri, rusher for Kanikule, did not get any sacks however she did put a lot of pressure on Benjamin this game. It was confirmed that she got there fast and made the QB scramble a bit before throwing. To me this seems like a good thing as it distracts the QB, they are thinking more about not getting sack than actually reading the field. So good job Maria, you did amazing !

Defender – Amine Encina (Power Puff Girls) 4 tackles, 1 interception-pick six and 1 PD

Rusher – Clifdji Solon (The IG Team 2) 2 sacks, 2 tackles

Female athlete – Béatrice Hénault (McNuggies) 5/7 catches, 52 yards and 1 TD
