A word on every Div4 team

What’s up guys! I’ll once again be writing for FPF this season as your Div4 writer. I’m very excited for this season as most of you should since Winter is the biggest season of FPF. Let me start by explaining the format a little bit.

We have two division 4s, 4A and 4B as most of you will have noticed. 4A is made up of 18 teams (14 qualifying) and 4B is made of 14 teams (12 qualifying for playoffs). With the two divisions split, strength of schedule is getting more normalized, with teams with more similar ratings playing each other. Enough rambling, let’s talk about teams and expectations.

Division 4A

Half Senders FC

A very interesting squad with Matthew Zeppetelli at QB, with a star in Sam Mashtoub but some question marks regarding the depth of the squad.

Trapstars

Ryan Garber is a solid QB with some good receivers in Dylan Garber and an improved James Wiseman. They’ll need to figure out their defense though.

Ballz Deep

Justin Weir’s team will be an interesting one but will probably struggle. Looks like a solid defense though which will keep them in games.

Born in the 80s

A consistently average team which perhaps lacked star power in the past, adds Sanders Armand to an already solid squad. Will David de Andrade use him efficiently?

Big Fun

The team is solid and will definitely win some games but I doubt they have the pedigree yet to be considered contenders or even pretenders.

Bet Boost Ballers

Depending on how Caleb Faulkner plays at QB, this team is potentially favorites in this division.

Smitty Bacall Gang

A great name, unfortunately I’m not sure how great this roster is. It seems to be lacking in both stars and depth.

Backfield Penetration

Really? Illegal Use of Hands is back and now they have lost Mathew Simard but replace him with Joseph Rokhendy and Raff Morelli. This team’s really good and I bet they can’t wait for February 24th.

Undisciplined flaggers

The roster looks great but then you realize there isn’t any experienced QB and that usually means trouble. Perhaps Michael D’Andrea has played before?

Still CRA

This team played Tier 2 last fall and struggled. I’m pretty sure Ryan Kharouf can’t throw in Div 4, so is Nirosh Suresh going to throw? That takes your best receiver away…

Les Blues Branleurs

Olivier Pilotto has been turnover prone throughout the seasons and the question whether this team has improved from last winter is still in the balance.

West Island Boys

The current favorites, they have everything including probably the best QB in the division.

Idaho Udapimps

My team, big disappointment in the fall but looking to bounce back.

Les Montagnards

Julien Fiset-Cyr is really good and has some decent receivers able to make plays. Not an amazing roster but the QB can carry the team.

Les Otaries Extremes

Really impressive roster for Kris Verreault, he picked up some low rated studs. Question will be whether Verreault is good enough as a QB to win a chip in div 4A.

Mofos

Tiemoko Sanogo at QB again, will be interesting to see if he continues his progression at the position. Julian Nelson and Vincent Beauregard are studs, but the rest of the team is a question mark.

Step Brothers

Frederic Juneau id a really good QB who had some up and downs with Bleue Dry in the past season. It’s an okay roster with Alexis Bessette and Luis Begin.

Nomads

Probably a middle of the pack team as they were last winter. Justin Lavallee is solid and the roster looks good but nothing n

Division 4A looks like a good mix of teams that have performed well during the spring and fall seasons in lower divisions and teams that were middle of the pack in Div4 last winter.

Division 4B

X-Men

One of the favorites in 4B, they definitely wouldn’t have been out of place in 4A considering how good they are.

Mengoose

Felix-Antoine Lavigne had a really up and down season his last time around but showed flashes. The roster is really good but it will all depend on FA.

Les Renards Vifs

Once again favorites as they won Div D-1 in Spring. A team that would have competed for the chip in Div 4A. Jacob Salvail is a great QB.

Voodoo

The legend Frank Kaye did some recruiting and brought in a bunch of unknowns that will surprise. Patrick St-Amand will of course be amongst the top receivers once again.

Pocket Rockets

PO Tremblay is back and he brings a decent roster with him. This team will struggle early on but might turn it around down the line.

Scrum-Diddly-Umptious

From now on you guys will be SDU, what kind of name is that? A bunch of new guys who could have played in a lower div but decided to play Div4. Usually a recipe for disaster but we’ll see.

Ball Don’t Lie

So Jacob Salvail is also on this roster, gotta fix that. The team looks all around solid but doesn’t seem to have an experienced QB.

Team Sexy

An interesting team, had some good moments in fall and some disappointments in the playoffs. Sam Anastasopoulos is going to aim for that 2-way award.

4th and Schlong

Div4B is probably more appropriate for this team and they’ll have a chance to make some noise. Justin Lerner will have to take a step up.

The Wolf Pack

Only 7 players but a really good roster. Andrew Grant’s speed will be dangerous in this division. James D’Andrea can be very good too at QB.

Dak to the Future

A bunch of young players playing with a lot of energy and skill. Though lacking a bit in experience, they’ll be there to cause chaos and have a very good QB in Justin Gauthier at the helm.

The Penetrators

Losing Rocco Cristiano is gonna hurt them a lot, and this team will struggle.

Monkeys

A new team starting in Div4 means a big learning curve ahead. Good luck guys, you’re gonna need it.

Killer Rays

A good team that wants to be great. They fell short a bit in past seasons but will improve. A lot will go through Tyler Gurberg.

There you guys have it for this week, good luck to all the teams playing Week1.
