100k and a Bunch of Sacks

Week 7 recap

Whats up FPF and to all division 1 & 2 readers. Im back with another article after missing last two weeks due to a very busy schedule and of course Super Bowl weekend. Before we dive into all the missed action in FPF I do want to take some time and talk about the game that was. The Super Bowl. In all 58 years of the Super Bowl I am able to vividly remember about 15 of them. Fortunately being able to witness the only 2 ever Overtimes in the Super Bowl but more on that later.

Super Bowl 58 was a clash of two of the hottest teams in the NFL as the Kansas City Chiefs squared off against the San Francisco 49ers. In a 2019 rematch, a long waited return for the 9ers with a chance at revenge. The stage was set in beautiful Las Vegas, where the two teams faced off in a showdown that promised to deliver excitement, drama, and unforgettable moments. As the game unfolded, it became clear that both teams were determined to leave everything on the field in pursuit of the Lombardi Trophy. A couple of turnovers by both teams and only a 10-3 end of the first half left us wondering if we would see any offensive action. With a very small lead the 9ers had played well so far but weren’t able to create any real distance on the score board. Of course it was Mahomes, who was named Super Bowl MVP for his outstanding performance, rose to the occasion when it mattered most. Scoring 10 points in the third quarter giving KC their first lead of the game.  With both teams trading scores int he 4th quarter this thrilling second half led us to a 19-10 tie heading to overtime. Now i’ve heard a few different opinions and point of views as to why the 49ers won the coin toss and elected to receive instead of defer. Now I understand that they defence was having trouble in the second half containing mahomes but just like in FPF you want the ball second in order to know what you need to do on offence to win the game. Imagine this, you just blew a lead to Kevin Wyeth and you’re now heading into overtime with our new overtime regular season rules. You have the choice weather to go first or second with only one attempt at a convert. And you chose to let Kev go second????? Makes 0 sense if you ask me but hey i’m just an FPF article writer and not a NFL coach that gets paid millions of dollars…..But for some reason Kyle Juszczyk and some other 9ers stars didn’t know the overtime rules, that to me speaks VOLUMES about the 9ers coaching staff and their preparation. Obviously only down 3 points in overtime, it was Mahomes who delivered the decisive blow, leading the Chiefs on a game-winning drive that ended with a touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman. The Chiefs erupted in celebration as confetti rained down onto the field, capping off a remarkable comeback and securing their third Super Bowl title in five years, and back to back championships. While the loss was undoubtedly heartbreaking for the 49ers and their fans, young Quarterback Brock Purdy and the offense showed flashes of brilliance, while the defense put up a fierce fight against one of the league’s most explosive offenses. But unfortunately I can’t feel sorry for them as they gave the chiefs every opportunity to come back and win this game. Mahomes is the best QB in the league and giving him and extra down to work with in overtime down 3 points is automatic. I easily saw this happening and my wallet/ Bet365 account thanks me for it. Am I happy about it? No but they were the better team and KC deserved it way more. Until next year, we will miss you NFL!

 Headlines

Kevin Wyeth continues to break records!

In the Allstars last game vs Royaume Luminaire, Kevin Wyeth has become the first layer to ever reach 100 thousand passing yards. After throwing for 273 yards and 6 touchdowns. The FPF Goat and 2011 Hall of Famer hit 100K yards in the regular season and Playoffs. Wyeth is a whopping 30 thousand yards ahead of the next QB in the record books Jeff Rosenblatt. This game also notched his 370th win of his Career.

Ethan Adrien leads div 1 & 2 in sacks

Ethan Adrian has emerged as a dominant force on the defensive side of the field. Showcasing his exceptional talent as the leading rusher in both Division 1 and Division 2 in sacks. With lightning speed and impeccable de-flagging skills, Adrian wreaks havoc on opposing offenses, consistently disrupting plays and getting to the quarterback with remarkable efficiency. His extraordinary performance has seen him tally an impressive total of 11 sacks in just 5 games in each division, underscoring his unparalleled ability to make an impact on the game. Adrian’s combination of speed, skill, and determination makes him a formidable opponent and a standout player in Flag plus. If he can double his 6 sack total in division 2 to 12, he would have my vote for DPOY!

Touchdown Thriller: Ambush walk off score vs Run it Once in Offensive Showcase

As the Ambush and Run it Once clashed in a high-octane offensive battle. Both quarterbacks, Benjamin McMahon and Jeff Rosenblatt, delivered laser-sharp throws, carving up defences and igniting the scoreboard with a flurry of touchdowns. Ultimately, the Ambush emerged victorious, claiming a narrow 49-44 win in a game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

From the opening snap, the Ambush displayed their offensive power. McMahon, a maestro behind center, orchestrated three consecutive touchdown drives, connecting with K. Donnet, J. Drysdale, and R. Semerjian for scores. Run it Once, however, refused to crumble. Rosenblatt, showcasing his own arm talent, found Sanders Armand for a touchdown, igniting a spark of hope for his team. The 1st half continued to be a see-saw affair. Ambush, fueled by McMahon’s pinpoint accuracy, added two more touchdowns to their tally as they took the lead 28-13, but Run it Once wouldn’t be silenced. The 2nd half witnessed a resurgent Run it Once. Rosenblatt, connecting with Matt Bond and Lyristis, orchestrated three touchdown drives, electrifying their sideline and bringing the score within a touchdown. With Rosenblatt, channeling his inner gunslinger, orchestrated a 31 point second half and took the lead 44-43. With only 3 plays left the Ambush offences completed 3 straight passes as McMahon connected with James Drysdale for a 31 yard walk off Touchdown. What an exciting finish.

Ill be back this weekend with another article outlining week 8 in Division 1 & 2 as we approach the second half of the season.
